Last season, Kevin De Bruyne, James Ward-Prowse and Son Heung-min were some of the standout players in the Premier League for Manchester City, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.

De Bruyne had one of his best seasons in a City shirt, scoring 15 goals and creating eight assists in 30 Premier League matches. Five of these goals came from outside the box, seeing him now hold the record for most goals from outside the penalty area in the history of the competition.

Meanwhile, set piece specialist Ward-Prowse managed five goals from outside the penalty area last season. The 27-year-old Portsmouth-born midfielder scored 10 goals last season and created five assists. Harry Kane has scored a total of 183 Premier League goals in his career and will be setting his sights on Alan Shearer’s all-time record of 260 at the age of 28. The Three Lions captain still scored 17 despite having an under-par campaign last season. He will be hoping to hit the heights of the 2017/18 season that saw him manage 30 league goals.

The final player on this list is Richarlison who has recently joined Tottenham from Everton for a reported £60m fee. The 25-year-old Brazil international scored 10 of his 48 Premier League goals last season and could be of great use to Spurs in 2022/23, with the five substitutes rule being brought back whilst they rotate their side for Champions League football.
