Last season, Kevin De Bruyne, James Ward-Prowse and Son Heung-min were some of the standout players in the Premier League for Manchester City, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.
De Bruyne had one of his best seasons in a City shirt, scoring 15 goals and creating eight assists in 30 Premier League matches. Five of these goals came from outside the box, seeing him now hold the record for most goals from outside the penalty area in the history of the competition.
Meanwhile, set piece specialist Ward-Prowse managed five goals from outside the penalty area last season. The 27-year-old Portsmouth-born midfielder scored 10 goals last season and created five assists. At present, Ward-Prowsehas scored the second-most free kicks in Premier League history, with only David Beckham ahead of the Saints man.
The 2021/22 season saw Son Heung-min win the Premier League Golden Boot for the first time in his career, with the 30-year-old South Korean scoring 23 goals, with none of these coming from the penalty spot.
