After last season’s near-perfect campaign, the expectations for Liverpool this seasons were similar, and thus far this season, they have massively underperformed, only winning two of their opening seven games in all competitions, culminating in a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Napoli in their Champions League opening game, where Liverpool looked deprived of confidence throughout the game.
This is the perfect side for Wolves to face to kick start their season after winning once in their first six league games, but they have the quality in the side to punish Liverpool like Napoli did, on the counter-attack, with Ruben Neves’s passing range and their pace in behind with Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto, whilst their defence has been solid to start the season, only conceding four times, and no more than once in a single game.
