5 Premier League tips for the Weekend’s Action - 20/8/22

Jordan

Bournemouth vs Arsenal: Gabriel Jesus to score & Arsenal to win - 11/10

Arsenal will want to keep their impressive start to the season going when they take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

The Cherries got off to the perfect start when they beat Aston Villa at home on the opening day, before being dismantled 4-0 against the champions, Manchester City, at the Etihad in their last game.

After some strong additions, Mikel Arteta’s side looks promising after some good performances to start their season. Following the opening day win away to Crystal Palace, the Gunners beat Leicester 4-2 last weekend to make it two wins from two.

Gabriel Jesus has been a superb signing for Arsenal, with two goals and two assists in just the two games so far. The Brazilian opened his goalscoring account with a brace last time out in his home debut and may be vital for the Gunners again if he can continue his electric form.

Fulham vs Brentford: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 goals - 6/5

Fulham and Brentford meet at Craven Cottage on Saturday, with both London sides looking to continue their unbeaten starts to the season.

The hosts managed to earn a point in their opener, that 2-2 draw against Liverpool. The Cottagers then managed another draw in the stalemate with Wolves last weekend.

Brentford will be full of confidence after the huge win last Sunday. The Bees began the season with the 2-2 draw away to Leicester, then followed it up with that incredible 4-0 triumph over Manchester United last weekend.

With Aleksandr Mitrovic getting off to a strong start with that brace against Liverpool, and Brentford scoring six goals in their two games so far, there could be more goals on the horizon with both teams getting in on the act.

Everton vs Nottingham Forest: Taiwo Awoniyi to score Anytime - 3/1

Everton will be looking to get their first points of the season when Nottingham Forest make the journey to Goodison Park on Saturday.

The Toffees will be after a win after losing both of their opening two fixtures, first at home to Chelsea before the narrow 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.

The visitors will be in high spirits after clinching their first win of the season in last Sunday’s 1-0 home win over West Ham. New summer signing Taiwo Awoniyi got the winner in that game, which was his full debut and, despite it coming in a fortunate manner, could be a sign of things to come.

The Nigerian striker could be a shrewd signing for £18million and could go on to get more. The former Liverpool prospect scored 20 goals in all competitions for Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin last season.

Leeds vs Chelsea: Chelsea to win & BTTS - 9/4

After a feisty battle at the Bridge last weekend, Chelsea turn their attention to an unbeaten Leeds side at Elland Road on Sunday.

The Whites are still yet to lose after a win and a draw in their first two games of the season. Jesse Marsch’s side got the better of Wolves in the 2-1 opening day win, before dropping two points away to Southampton last Saturday after surrendering a two-goal lead.

The visitors are also unbeaten after seeing off Everton, then just missing out on all three points against Tottenham on Sunday, thanks to a late Harry Kane equaliser. Thomas Tuchel’s side will be favourites heading into the weekend, but with four goals in the two games they’ve played so far, Leeds may put up a fight.

Newcastle vs Man City: Man City to win & BTTS - 15/8

It’s been a perfect start for Man City as the Citizens go about defending their title again. They’ll be looking to keep their 100% record intact when they take on Newcastle on Sunday.

Eddie Howe’s side are also unbeaten, picking up an opening day win against Nottingham Forest before a stalemate with Brighton in their last match.

Pep Guardiola’s men have started the campaign with back-to-back wins, starting with the 2-0 away win at West Ham. They followed that up last week by easing past Bournemouth.

Whilst City are a machine that will be hopeful of winning every game, Newcastle have plenty of top players that can cause problems.
