        Bournemouth vs Brighton Prediction

We are expecting a close game with multiple goals on both ends. On paper, Bournemouth and Brighton enter this game with similar records over their previous five fixtures. The Cherries come into this game with two wins in their last five, which came over Man City and Arsenal. The Seagulls possess the same record with two wins, two losses and a draw, one of those victories also against City.

Neither side have kept a clean sheet in their previous three, with over 2.5 goals scored in eight of the last nine involving the visitors. It will be an entertaining matchup, and we back the points to be shared – Bournemouth 2-2 Brighton

Bournemouth vs Brighton: Preview & Prediction

Brighton make the trip to take on Bournemouth with both sides looking to continue impressive starts to the Premier League season.

        Date: 23/11/24

        Kick-off time: 15:00

        Venue: Vitality Stadium

Despite Bournemouth sitting in 12th place, they are certainly looking ahead rather than nervously over their shoulders. After 11 games, the Cherries have accumulated 15 points and are ahead of Man United. However, they are just four points behind Chelsea in third, which is testament to how competitive the league has been so far. A victory this weekend could see them surge up the table.

Their visitors are Brighton, who have made an even stronger start to the season. They are well in the mix for European contention in sixth place, level on points with Chelsea and Arsenal in the top four. The Seagulls have lost just twice so far, and have exceeded early expectations under new manager Fabian Hurzeler. Three points would further cement their standing in the top six.

Both teams have picked up some huge wins this season, including wins each against Man City in recent weeks. The pair have also both taken points off Arsenal. This could mean a close affair is on the cards. The hosts have lost once this season at home, whilst Brighton have suffered both of their defeats on the road. Neither side have a clear advantage defensively, having both conceded 15 goals.

This should place more emphasis on the attacking front, with threats at either end. Brighton have the edge here with greater strength in depth. Hurzeler’s side have scored in all but one game in all competitions this season. Danny Welbeck leads the way with six league goals, followed by the recently returned Joao Pedro, who has scored three. Matt O’Riley scored the winner last time out against Man City, his first appearance since returning from injury.

For Bournemouth, only three players have scored multiple goals, though Antoine Semenyo and Evanilson have netted four each. In recent weeks, they have seen greater offensive production, with at least two goals scored in three of the last four games. They certainly have enough talent to cause the opposition problems.

These two sides have met seven times in the Premier League since 2019. Brighton have edged the head-to-head in this period with four wins to Bournemouth’s three. However, the most recent matchups have been in the Cherries’ favour with three wins in four. The latest game was a 3-0 win for Bournemouth at home, though Brighton won the reverse fixture 3-1.

        Form Guide

        Bournemouth:

In their last five games, Bournemouth have won two, lost two and drawn one. It has been a mixed stretch for the Cherries in recent weeks. They picked up huge wins against title contenders but dropped points to lesser opponents. The first game of this run was a disappointing 1-0 loss at Leicester. Facundo Buonanotte scored the winner in the 16th minute.

However, they picked up a massive win as they beat a 10-man Arsenal side 2-0. William Saliba was shown a straight red card in the first half before Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert took advantage. They then picked up another impressive point away at Aston Villa. Ross Barkley had given the hosts the lead, but Evanilson salvaged a draw with a 96th minute equaliser.

Perhaps their biggest victory came in the next game against Man City at home. They were 2-1 winners against the champions after Antoine Semenyo and Evanilson put them ahead. Josko Gvardiol’s goal came too late for City to mount a comeback. Bournemouth’s most recent game was a 3-2 loss at Brentford. The visitors took the lead twice through Evanilson and Kluivert, but the Bees fought back both times before scoring the winner with over half an hour to go.

        Brighton:

In their last five games, Brighton have won two, lost two and drawn one. It has been a solid stretch for the Seagulls in recent weeks, with the latest result a huge come-from-behind win at home to Man City. Erling Haaland had given the Champions the lead, but two goals in the space of five minutes from Joao Pedro and Matt O’Riley gave the Seagulls a late win.

This followed a pair of defeats against Liverpool in the EFL Cup and Premier League. They were eliminated in the fourth round of the Cup after a 3-2 loss. Liverpool took a 2-0 lead before the Seagulls pulled one back, then the two teams exchanged goals once more. The Premier League fixture saw them defeated 2-1 at Anfield. Ferdi Kadıoğlu opened the scoring for Brighton, but two goals in as many minutes in the second half turned the game on its head.

A trip to Newcastle started this run of games. They were 1-0 winners as Welbeck’s 35th minute strike proved decisive. They were unable to continue their momentum as they squandered a two-goal lead to drop points against Wolves. Welbeck continued his good form with the opener, before Evan Ferguson doubled the lead late on. However, Wolves pulled one back with two minutes to go, before Matheus Cunha equalised in stoppage time.
