          Bournemouth vs Arsenal Prediction

Arsenal have been in outstanding form of late, despite having injury issues. They remain unbeaten in all competitions with the second best defensive record in the Premier League. With the consistently solid centre-back pairing of William Saliba and Gabriel, the Gunners have been tough to score against. They currently have five clean sheets in all competitions.

Bournemouth have been inconsistent in front of goal to start this season. Whilst they have scored eight goals in their seven fixtures so far, they have failed to score in three of those games, including their most recent match against Leicester in which they lost 1-0. We are backing their struggles to continue with defeat against Arsenal – Bournemouth 0-2 Arsenal

Bournemouth vs Arsenal: Preview & Prediction

Arsenal travel to Bournemouth looking to continue their impressive start to the season and keep within touching distance at the top of the table.

          Date: 19/10/24

          Kick-off time: 17:30

          Venue: Vitality Stadium

Despite a tough fixture list and some notable absentees, Arsenal have made an excellent start to the season. They are currently third, a point behind leaders Liverpool and level with Man City. They have already faced City and their North London rivals Tottenham, as well as a tricky trip to Aston Villa. The Gunners have yet to be beaten this season and will be confident in continuing this trend away at Bournemouth.

It has been a mixed start to the season for the Cherries as they sit 13th in the table. They have won two of their opening seven games with three defeats. This includes a 1-0 loss to struggling Leicester last time out. Whilst they will not be thinking of a relegation battle yet, a defeat this weekend could leave them looking over their shoulders early on, especially with games against Aston Villa and Man City also on the horizon.

Goals may be difficult to come by for the hosts as they come up against one of the league’s strongest defences. However, Mikel Arteta’s side have shown some vulnerability of late, not keeping a clean sheet in their last three league games. They have conceded five in this stretch. If Bournemouth are to threaten, they should look to club-record signing Evanilson, who will be leading the line. He has failed to hit the ground running so far with just one goal, and his club will need him to get going if they are to get anything from this game. Antoine Semenyo is their top scorer with three.

Arsenal have plenty of dangerous attacking options going forward, none more so than Kai Havertz. The German has scored four goals so far and is the side’s top scorer. Although, all of his goals have come at the Emirates. The home defence will also have to be wary of set pieces, with Arsenal the most successful from them. Gabriel in particular is a major threat.

The visitors have been the dominant team in this matchup in recent years. Arsenal have won eight of the last nine meetings in all competitions with the other fixture ending in a draw. The last time Bournemouth were victorious was in January 2018 with a 2-1 win at home. The North Londoners did the double over their opponents last season, winning a combined 7-0.

          Team News

          Bournemouth

Bournemouth should have a fully fit squad to choose from with Tyler Adams set for a potential return from a lower back injury. His status is still in question, but the hope is that he can be involved.

          Arsenal

Martin Odegaard remains out with an ankle injury. Mikel Arteta had been handed a scare after Bukayo Saka was substituted off in England’s game against Greece but he should be okay. Kai Havertz withdrew from international duty with a knee injury but should be available. Oleksandr Zinchenko could return.

          Form Guide

          Bournemouth:

In their last five games, Bournemouth have won two and lost three. It has been a difficult stretch for the Cherries in recent weeks. However, this run began with their first victory of the campaign which came in dramatic fashion at Everton. They were 2-0 down at 87 minutes, but three goals in quick succession snatched all three points. After Antoine Semenyo levelled the score, Lewis Cook and Luis Sinisterra scored twice in stoppage time to complete the turnaround.

A loss at home to Chelsea meant they were unable to continue this momentum. Evanilson missed a penalty in the first half, which proved costly as Christopher Nkunku scored a late winner. Their most recent game was a tricky trip to Anfield. A disallowed goal denied them the lead, before Luis Diaz scored two goals in as many minutes to take the game away. Darwin Nunez added a third.

Bournemouth picked up their second win of the season against Southampton. Evanilson, Dango Ouattara and Semenyo gave them a 3-0 half-time lead. The Saints pulled one back shortly after the restart. The most recent game was a disappointing 1-0 loss at Leicester. Facundo Buonanotte scored the winner in the 16th minute.

          Arsenal:

In their last five games, Arsenal have won four and drawn one. The Gunners have managed to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign despite some tough fixtures. This run started with their biggest test of the season at champions Man City. They came away with a 2-2 draw in an extraordinary game. Erling Haaland put the hosts in front, before Mikel Arteta’s side turned it around through Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel. A second yellow card to Leandro Trossard shifted the momentum back into City’s favour, and the home side dominated the second half. However, they did not find an equaliser until the 98th minute. John Stones scored the goal.

A 5-1 win at home to Bolton comfortably saw them through to the fourth round of the EFL Cup. Seventeen-year old Ethan Nwaneri scored twice, and Raheem Sterling netted his first goal for the club. Arsenal continued their strong start to the league season with a 4-2 win over Leicester last time out. After taking a 2-0 lead, a brace from James Justin levelled it up at 2-2. An own goal clinched the win deep into stoppage time before Havertz added a fourth to put it to bed.

A return to Champions League action followed and they picked up their first win against PSG. They won 2-0 with goals from Havertz and Bukayo Saka. Last time out Arsenal won 3-1 against Southampton. The Saints took a shock lead, but a quick response from Havertz levelled the score. Gabriel Martinelli and Saka secured the three points.
