The title race is hotting up and after a slip-up against Chelsea, Man City will be looking to bounce back with all three points against Bournemouth, with The Cherries aiming for another three points between them and the relegation zone.
Bournemouth currently sit 13th in the Premier League after 24 games. The Cherries have seven wins, seven draws and ten losses, leaving them on 28 points, nine points above the relegation zone.
The Cherries have been somewhat quiet in front of goal, especially in comparison to their top scorer. Bournemouth have scored 33 goals which is the 13th most in the league but Dominic Solanke has scored 14 goals, the third most in the league. Bournemouth have struggled defensively, conceding 46 goals in 25 games and keeping just five clean sheets.
Manchester City, on the other hand, currently sit second in the Premier League. In 25 games, City have 17 wins, five draws and three losses which leaves them on 56 points, one behind top-of-the-league Liverpool - though Liverpool take on Luton Town at Anfield tonight and can extend their lead back to four points.
City have been on it in front of the goal this season, scoring 58 in 25 games, giving them an average of 2.32 goals a game. In fact, their top scorer, Erling Haaland, has the most goals this season with 17. City also have a good defensive record, conceding 26 goals and keeping seven clean sheets.
Bournemouth and Manchester City have met just 20 times in their histories, with the first meeting coming back in 1987. Manchester City have the better record in the fixture with 18 wins and Bournemouth failing to beat City on any occasion, the best result they’ve gotten being the two draws.
Both of the draws in the fixture came back in 1989 and 1999, but in the last seven games in the fixture only two of the games have seen only one team on the scoresheet. The last three games also show that this fixture is a goal-fest, with over four goals in all three games.
