            Newcastle make the journey south to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League this Wednesday. Palace look to put even more room between themselves and the relegation zone whereas Newcastle look to hold off Manchester United and West Ham.

            Newcastle are likely out of the race for the Europa League spot, ten points behind Tottenham. Crystal Palace do have a gap between themselves and the drop zone and will be looking to close in on the bust mid table above them.

            Eddie Howe has a big list of injuries to manage. Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, Lewis Miley, Joelinton, Callum Wilson, Nick Pope, Miguel Almiron, Matt Targett and Joe Willock. However, Kieran Trippier could return this week.

            Recent Form

            In their last five games in all competitions, Crystal Palace have two wins, one draw and two losses.

            Jean-Philippe Mateta opened the scoring for Palace in the 11th minute against Nottingham Forest. However, Forest were able to convert one of their five shots on target in the second half, Chris Wood equalising just after the hour mark. Neither team could find the back of the net again as the game finished in a 1 - 1 draw.

            The trip to the Coast saw Palace only register two shots on target. Justin Kluivert scored the only goal of the game in the 79th minute to give Bournemouth the 1 - 0 win.

            Mateta was on the scoresheet early again for Crystal Palace, finding the back of the net in the fourth minute but Kevin De Bruyne’s first goal made it 1 - 1 at halftime. Rico Lewis put Manchester City ahead just two minutes into the second half and a goal from Erling Haaland and another goal from De Bruyne gave City the 4 - 2 win with Odsonne Edouard scoring late on for Palace.

            Back in the Premier League Newcastle hosted West Ham. Alexander Isak’s first penalty in the sixth minute gave The Magpies the lead but goals from Michail Antonio and Mohammed Kudus gave West Ham the lead at halftime. Jarrod Bowen then added a third early in the second half, but another penalty from Isak and a brace from Harvey Barnes gave ten-man Newcastle the 4 - 3 win, Anthony Gordon sent off late on.

            Isak was on the scoresheet again, opening the scoring in the 15th minute for The Magpies. However, a penalty from Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 88th minute grabbed a 1 - 1 draw for Everton.

            Newcastle were back to winning ways against Fulham. Despite having just 33% of the possession, Bruno Guimaraes scored the only goal of the game in the 81st minute to give Newcastle the 1 - 0 win.

            The most recent outing for Newcastle was an important game against Tottenham. A two minute period in the first half saw Isak and Gordon score to give Newcastle the 2 - 0 lead at halftime. Isak scored again in the second half and Fabian Schar added another late on to wrap up a 4 - 0 win.
