          Fulham vs. Leicester - Prediction

Fulham have a good recent record against Leicester, winning three of the last five head-to-head meetings between the two, including both of the last two.

Both sides have registered on the scoresheet in four of the last six meetings between the two, so we're expecting this one to throw up a few goals.

Leicester have won only one of their last six competitive games away from home, and despite a solid performance against Tottenham this could prove a tricky encounter for the Foxes. Fulham 2-1 Leicester.

Fulham vs. Leicester: Prediction, Preview & Betting Tips

Fulham currently sit 15th in the Premier League with 0 points. The Cottagers come into this campaign in a fairly uncertain position. Manager Marco Silva comfortably guided the team to a 13th-place finish last season despite many tipping them for relegation at the start of the campaign, and fans were hopeful that the Portuguese man could help the team take another leap this season but the summer transfer window has put them in a fairly tough position.

          • Date: 24/08/2024
          • Kick-off time: 15:00
          • Location: Craven Cottage, West London

Fulham brought in attacking midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe from Arsenal in what should turn out to be a very good signing, but the West London club lost defensive midfielder João Palhinha in a big-money move to Bayern Munich while defender Tosin Adarabioyo left for Chelsea on a free transfer. Winger Bobby Decordova-Reid also left the club for free, signing for Leicester, in what is an underplayed loss to the team given how many important goals he contributed last season.

There are quite a few holes in Fulham’s squad that need to be filled between now and the expiration of the transfer window if they are going to give themselves the best possible chance to have a comfortable season, as their squad depth is looking quite light. There’s still a good amount of quality, but more is needed.

The Cottagers looked solid in their opening game of the campaign and will hope there is plenty of improvement to come. They’ll be keen to register three points on the board here and they probably won’t get many better chances to do so.

Leicester City currently sit 10th in the Premier League with one point. Following promotion from the Championship last time out, the Foxes are faced with what's shaping up to be a daunting season. Leicester's summer began in chaotic conditions as manager Enzo Maresca departed the club for Chelsea, and since then the Foxes have seen star player Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall follow Maresca out of the door while transfer incomings have been limited.

There is also the additional issue of a looming points deduction that's been lingering over Leicester's head for months. The Foxes are accused of a couple of financial breaches which, as reports have this week revealed, means the club is in line to be slapped with two separate points deductions.

Leicester's task of remaining in the Premier League was already looking a mighty one, but with the added burden of a points deduction they're the clear favourites to drop back down to the Championship.

They did, at least, deliver a promising performance on the opening day of the season in new manager Steve Cooper's first competitive game in charge, but it's going to take a heroic effort for them to avoid the drop this season.

          Where To Watch

This game will not be televised live to U.K. audiences, but full radio coverage will be provided by BBC Radio Leicester.

          Team News

          Fulham Team News:

The Cottagers don't have too many options on the bench but would bring Tom Cairney into the starting lineup after a decent showing off the bench at Old Trafford.

Marco Silva's side have sustained no new injuries and should have a fully fit squad for this game.

Predicted lineup: Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Cairney, Lukiċ; Adama, Smith-Rowe, Iwobi; Muniz.

          Leicester Team News:

The Foxes will once again be without Patson Daka, Conor Coady, Luke Thomas and Jakub Stolarczyk, who continue to recover from their respective injury issues.

New signing Oliver Skipp should make the matchday squad after completing a permanent move from Tottenham Hotspur, but may have to be content with a place on the bench.

Predicted lineup: Hermansen; Justin, Vestergaard, Faes, Kristiansen; Winks, Ndidi; Fatawu, Buonanotte, Decordova-Reid; Vardy.

Fulham vs. Leicester - Form Guide

Fulham’s 2024-25 Premier League campaign started with a trip to Old Trafford where they fell to a 1-0 loss. Fulham performed well for parts of the game and did well to keep the play tight, frustrating United with a compact defensive shape.

It looked as though Fulham were en route to a point until United substitute Joshua Zirkzee clipped a cross into the far corner with just two minutes remaining.

Despite the positives that Fulham can take from the game, they’ll be frustrated not to have got something from the match given how wasteful they were throughout the game. Silva’s side made a mess of a number of golden counter-attacking opportunities that should have resulted in clear chances, but poor decision-making in key moments ultimately cost them.

Still, Fulham displayed a good foundation from which they can continue to progress this season so they should try to exorcise the memory of that defeat from their minds as they look towards a big game this weekend.

Leicester kicked off their return to the Premier League with a difficult game at home to Tottenham Hotspur. The first half went largely as expected, with Spurs dominating the play, cutting through Leicester on several occasions.

A fine James Maddison cross was converted by Pedro Porro midway through the first half, giving Spurs a deserved first half lead.

However, Leicester emerged from the second half in a much more aggressive fashion, working their way back into the game before equalising through Jamie Vardy.

Despite Spurs' pressure, Leicester held out for the remainder of the game and provided a consistent threat on the break throughout the final 45 minutes, despite having only 29% of the possession.
