            Fulham vs. Wolves - Prediction

This should be an entertaining game between two sides that commonly see a high volume of goals in their games. Both sides have found the back of the net in four of both sides' last five games, while all of the last three head-to-head meetings have seen BTTS occur.

It looks like a tough game for Wolves on paper, however, who are winless in their last 11 league games on the road, while Fulham have lost only once at Craven Cottage this season. Fulham 2-1 Wolves.

Fulham vs. Wolves: Prediction, Preview & Betting Tips

Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to build some much-needed momentum as they take on Fulham in the Premier League.

            • Date: 23/11/2024
            • Kick-off time: 15:00
            • Location: Craven Cottage, West London

Fulham currently sit 7th in the Premier League with 18 points from 11 games. The Cottagers are having a fine campaign thus far having shown a notable level of improvement from last year and they have serious hopes of pushing for a European place.

The Cottagers have an extremely strong defensive record having conceded 13 goals in 11 games, a rate bettered by only four teams in the league. Summer signing Joachim Andersen, who arrived from Cyrstal Palace in a big-money deal, has made a big difference to the team's fortunes, while left-back Antonee Robinson has performed at his typically high level.

From an attacking perspective, another summer signing has taken centre stage, with Emile Smith-Rowe having made a big impression on the side. Smith-Rowe's power and dynamism in midfield has provided Fulham with a degree of X-factor that the team needed, and after a slow start the former England U21 international is really starting to stamp his mark on the side.

Fulham, remarkably, currently rank 3rd in the league for expected goals, boasting a rate of 1.61xG, which suggests their position in the league table is anything but a false reflection of their level as a team. Marco Silva is really building a name for himself at Fulham, and if he can guide them to Europe this season there'll likely be a few big-name suitors looking to poach him from the Cottagers.

For now, his main focus will be on taking Fulham as far as he can take them this season, and it's safe to say he's doing a fine job on that front.

Wolverhampton Wanderers currently sit 19th in the Premier League with six points from 11 games. Unlike Fulham, it's been a very rough start to the season for Wolves. Gary O'Neil's side have been leaking goals for fun having conceded a whopping 27 times in 11 games, more than any other team in the league.

The underlying number for Wolves are not particularly positive, either, with the Midlands-based club having an expected goals rate of 1.21xG per game, the 17th best rate in the league, and an expected goals against rate of 1.75xGA, the third worst in the league.

Wolves have some very good players and some of their performances this season have been very positive - they'll probably feel as though they deserve a few more points than they have - but O'Neil will have to get a real grip on the team's issues quite quickly if they are to make progress this season.

There have, at least, been some positive signs in recent weeks that suggest the team may just be on the up, so this game will be a huge test of their level. O'Neil has done well to remain in the post this long as there has been tonnes of speculation regarding his job security in the early months of the season, so he'll want to repay the faith of the Wolves board.

If Wolves win here, it would mark a gargantuan three points and they'll feel as though they have some real momentum behind them.

            Where To Watch

This game will not be televised live in the UK, but partial radio coverage will be provided by BBC Radio West Midlands.

            Team News

            Fulham Team News:

Fulham come into this game with a pretty clean bill of health, with just Saša Lukić and Vinícius set to miss out.

After a good result away at Crystal Palace last time out, Marco Silva will likely name the same starting XI for the second week straight.

Predicted lineup: Leno; Tete, Anderen, Bassey, Robinson; Pereira, Berge; Iwobi, Smith-Rowe, Nelson; Jiménez.

            Wolves Team News:

The visitors have pretty significant absentee list with Hwang Hee-Chan, Yerson Mosquera, Bastien Meupiyou, Boubacar Traore, Enso González and Saša Kalajdžić all set to miss out once again.

Like Fulham, Wolves are coming off the back of a good performance and result, so they aren't likely to make many changes here.

Predicted lineup: Sá; Semedo, Bueno, Dawson, T. Gomes; Lemina, J. Gomes; Sarabia, Cunha, Aït-Nouri; Strand Larsen.

Fulham vs. Wolves - Form Guide

Fulham's form has been mixed of late with the Cottagers having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five. Those two wins, though, did come in their last two games, a 2-0 win away at Crystal Palace and a 2-1 win over Brentford, with Emile Smith-Rowe and Harry Wilson (X3) scoring the goals in those games.

Prior to that, Fulham drew 1-1 away at Everton, where despite taking the lead through Alex Iwobi, they were pegged back in injury time as the home side netted an equaliser.

That result was preceded by a 1-3 loss at home to Aston Villa and a 3-2 defeat away at Manchester City.

Wolves are coming into this game with one win, two draws and two losses from their last five outings. Last time out, Wolves produced a solid performance to run out 2-0 winners over Southampton thanks to goals from Pablo Sarabia and Matheus Cunha, their first win of the season.

Prior to that was a 2-2 draw at home to Crystal Palace, with Jørgen Strand Larsen and João Gomes grabbing the goals, which followed another 2-2 draw, this time away at Brighton where Wolves mounted a miraculous late comeback that saw them score in the 88th and 93rd minutes to overturn a 2-0 deficit, with the goals coming from Rayan Aït-Nouri and Cunha.

Those results came after a 1-2 defeat at home to Manchester City and a 5-3 loss away at Brentford.
