Haaland’s 80/1 2022/23 Premier League RAB

Erling Haaland is priced at 80/1 to score 40 Premier League goals, even after his brace on his Premier League debut for Manchester City away at West Ham United.

The 22-year-old Norwegian managed to score 85 goals in 88 matches during his time at Borussia Dortmund, and if he keeps up this kind of strike rate, he could smash Mohamed Salah’s Premier League record of 32 goals scored under the 20-team format.

In 67 Bundesliga matches, Haaland managed to score 62 times for Dortmund, and in such a dominant City side, there is room to further excel on his already impressive goalscoring record.

As mentioned above, Haaland managed to score a brace against West Ham United on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, meaning that he needs eight more goals to close in on 10 in his opening five games.

The other matches that Haaland will need to score in are Bournemouth (H), Newcastle United (A), Crystal Palace (H) and Nottingham Forest (H). With three home fixtures, there is a genuine possibility that the ex-Red Bull Salzburg striker can achieve this target.

Haaland’s goalscoring record speaks for itself, with his best campaign for Dortmund seeing him bag 27 goals and create eight assists in 28 league matches during 2020/21.

At Red Bull Salzburg, Haaland also managed 29 goals in 27 matches. What is impressive about the Norwegian’s record, is that he has taken no time at all to settle into the clubs he’s been at, having found the back of the net 13 times in his opening 15 games for the Black and Yellows.

Having scored a brace against the likes of West Ham, who are known to be one of the better sides in the division, many will be questioning how many times Haaland will go one better and bag a hat-trick in the Premier League during his debut campaign for City.

Haaland managed to score three Premier League hat-tricks for Dortmund and with greater creative talents around him and at a more mature age, could he score five or more hat-tricks in England’s top-flight this season?
