Leeds are hoping to build on an excellent result last time out as they welcome Liverpool to Elland Road on Saturday evening.
Leeds have had a tough first third of the season but there have been signs of a resurgence in recent matches. Having lost four on the bounce prior, Leeds beat Chelsea 3-1 in midweek, a result that came about as a result of a system change. Daniel Farke switched to a back three in the second half of their 3-2 defeat to Manchester City, which nearly resulted in Leeds taking a point from the Etihad. He then started with that system against Chelsea, and the Whites really put the Blues to the sword, dominating the game and running out deserved winners.
The expectation is that Farke is going to persist with this system and hopefully, the last two matches have been the start of what will be an excellent turnaround. They're facing a wounded Liverpool side here and will fancy their chances of a result, despite the visitors' quality.
Liverpool enter this game having won just three of their last 14 in all competitions. This season has been a disaster for the Reds and they come into this game with manager Arne Slot's job in a precarious position.
It's hard to know the exact cause behind the team's major decline, but there are several, ranging from imbalances in the squad's composition to off-the-pitch issues. Either way, the team is not a shadow of what it was last season.
They'll know that they have a difficult game in store at Elland Road, and they'll need to be on it to avoid defeat. Having drawn at home to Sunderland in midweek, they need to get three points back on the board.
