Manchester United vs Everton: Betting Tips, Match Prediction & Preview

Manchester United host Everton at Old Trafford in the early Saturday kick-off in the Premier League. United are looking to reel in Tottenham and European football whereas Everton are on the climb after their points deduction was reduced.

Not much separates the clubs in the fight for European football, with United in desperate need of a three-point haul to continue their pursuit of Tottenham. Everton are now out of the relegation zone but will be looking for a win to bridge that gap even more.

Manchester United currently sit sixth in the Premier League after 27 games. The Red Devils have 14 wins, two draws and 11 losses, leaving them on 44 points, two points above West Ham and six points behind Tottenham, who have a game in hand.

The Red Devils have struggled in front of goal this season, scoring 36 goals in 27 games, an average of just 1.38 goals a game. United have been much better defensively, conceding 36 goals and keeping seven clean sheets.

Everton, on the other hand, currently sit 16th in the Premier League. In 27 games, The Toffees have eight wins, seven draws and 12 losses which leaves them on 25 points, five points above the relegation zone.

The Toffees have also struggled in attack this season. In 27 games, Everton have scored 29 games, an average of just 1.07 goals a game. Everton are also much better at the other end of the pitch, conceding 37 goals and keeping eight clean sheets.

Manchester United and Everton have a storied history, having met 212 times in their histories, the first coming back in 1892. The Red Devils have the better record in the fixture with 94 wins in comparison to Everton’s 71 wins, the other 47 games ending in a draw.

In the last five games in the fixture, United have four wins and Everton have just one, coming back in 2022. However, in the last seven games, four of them have had both teams on the scoresheet.

            Recent Form

In their last five games in all competitions, Manchester United have three wins and two losses.

Hojlund gave United the 1 - 0 lead at halftime at Villa Park, but Douglas Luiz equalised with just over 20 minutes to go. Despite Villa having 23 shots with ten on target, Scott McTominay scored in the 86th minute to give United the 2 - 1 win.

It was another 2 - 1 win for United the next time out, this time over Luton Town. Hojlund grabbed an early brace, giving United the 2 - 0 lead before the ten-minute mark. Carlton Morris did get Luton on the scoresheet early, but United held on for 80 minutes for the 2 - 1 win.

The visit from Fulham saw a goalless first half. However, Calvin Bassey opened the scoring for Fulham just after the hour mark. Maguire popped up with a goal in the 89th minute to equalise but in the seventh minute of added time Alex Iwobi found the back of the net to give Fulham the 2 - 1 win.

In the Fifth Round of the FA Cup it was an all-Premier League tie against Nottingham Forest. It was another game of late goals for United, this time Casemiro scoring in the 89th minute to give United the 1 - 0 win.

The last time out for United was a big Manchester derby against City. Marcus Rashford’s long-range goal gave United the lead at halftime, but a brace from Phil Foden and a goal from Erling Haaland gave City the 3 - 1 win.

In their last five games in all competitions, Everton have three draws and two losses.

Richarlison opened the scoring for Tottenham against his old team in the fourth minute, but Jack Harrison equalised for Everton. The Brazilian secured his brace and regained the lead for Tottenham going into halftime but a 94th-minute goal from Jarrad Brantwaite grabbed a 2 - 2 draw for Everton.

After a goalless first half, Haaland finally found the back of the net for Manchester City, grabbing a brace in the last 20 minutes to give City the 2 - 0 win over an Everton side with just one shot on target.

The Monday Night Football against Crystal Palace saw Jordan Ayew give The Eagles the lead just after the hour mark. However, Amadou Onana scored late on to grab a 1 - 1 draw and a point for The Toffees.

It was yet another 1 - 1 draw for Everton the next time out, this time against Brighton. Branthwaite was on the scoresheet again for Everton but even after the late red card to Billy Gilmour, Lewis Dunk popped up with a goal in the 95th minute to force the 1 - 1 draw.

The most recent outing for Everton was against West Ham. The Toffees opened the scoring in the second half through Beto, but an equaliser from Kurt Zouma and extra-time goals from Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez gave The Hammers the 3 - 1 win.
