Our 5 Picks for Fantasy Five Ahead of Gameweek 4 of the PL Season

Fantasy 5 Gameweek 4

Nottingham Forest vs Spurs: Emerson Royal - 6.5 Points

On Sunday, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur face off in what should be an intriguing Premier League encounter at the City Ground.

Our pick for this match is Brazilian right-back Emerson Royal, who has started all three matches for Antonio Conte’s side this season, helping them to a clean sheet last time out against Wolves, and even creating an assist in their 4-1 hammering of Southampton at the weekend.

To beat a target score of 6.5 points, the former Barcelona man will likely need a clean sheet as well as a goal involvement - with assists worth three points regardless of position, whilst a goal for a defender is valued at six points.

Arsenal vs Fulham: Gabriel Martinelli - 8.5 Points

Arsenal will be looking to keep up their perfect record in the league when they host Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

A player that has caught the eye this season is Gabriel Martinelli, as the Brazilian has scored two goals in his opening three matches, bagging against both Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

Crucially, Martinelli classes as a midfielder in Fantasy Five, meaning that a goal would count as five points. In order to beat his target, the 21-year-old would likely have to get two goal contributions, as playing more than 60 minutes and a clean sheet would only add up to three points.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth: Luis Diaz - 9.5 Points

Luis Diaz will be aiming to impress when Liverpool faces Bournemouth on Saturday, as Jurgen Klopp’s men search for their first league win of the season.

Like Martinelli, Diaz also classes as a midfielder despite plying his trade as an inside forward. The Colombian will be expected to have a strong game as he did against Crystal Palace in the Reds' last home game when he scored a sensational goal in a 1-1 draw.

The ex-FC Porto man will need at least two goal contributions, as assists are worth three points, whilst a goal for a midfielder is worth five. Diaz will be looking to take full advantage of a Cherries defence that has conceded seven in their last two outings.

Chelsea vs Leicester City: James Maddison - 5.5 Points

Chelsea and Leicester City go head to head on Saturday, with both sides looking to improve on their slow starts to the season.

James Maddison actually scored in a 1-1 draw for Leicester at Stamford Bridge last season on his way to 12 goals and eight assists in 35 Premier League appearances during the 2021/22 campaign.

So far this season, the former Norwich City midfielder has been in good form once again, despite his side’s struggles, as the 25-year-old managed to score against both Arsenal and Southampton, as well as assisting in their 2-2 draw at home to Brentford on the opening weekend.

Maddison would simply only have to score and play 60 or more minutes without receiving a card to beat his points target.

Brentford vs Everton: Ivan Toney - 6.5 Points

The final player on this list of picks for game week four of the Premier League season is Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

Toney has been in superb form this campaign, as the ex-Peterborough United forward has scored two and created two assists, with his goals coming against Leicester and Fulham, whilst both of his assists came at the expense of Manchester United in the Bees' famous 4-0 victory.

The 26-year-old striker managed to score against Everton in a 1-0 home win last season and will fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet again having had a blistering start to the campaign. A goal is worth four points for a striker, meaning that he would likely have to get two goal contributions to beat 6.5 points.
