Player RABs & Specials for the Upcoming Premier League Season

Erling Haaland managed to fire in 36 goals during his first Premier League season, while Harry Kane finished as runner-up in the Golden Boot race with 30 goals.

Mohamed Salah scored 19 goals in 38 appearances last time out, a tally he will have to better if he is to hit the 25-goal mark - the last time the Egyptian managed this achievement was in the 2017/18 season when he scored 32 league goals.

As far as assists go, Kevin De Bruyne created 16 assists in 32 Premier League matches last time out, while Trent Alexander-Arnold achieved nine in 37 league games.

Last season, Alexander-Arnold managed nine assists, just one more than Bruno Fernandes - both will feel that they could’ve had more assists last campaign had their strikers had better conversion rates.

The former’s best season in terms of league assists was back in 2019/20 when he racked up 13 assists, meanwhile, Fernandes’ best season for creating assists was in 2020/21 when he made 11 assists.

James Maddison created nine assists for Leicester last season, a tally which he could improve on for Tottenham Hotspur in 2023/24 with the likes of Son, Dejan Kulusevski and Kane among the Lilywhites ranks.

Ben Chilwell made three assists in 23 Premier League games for Chelsea last season in what was an incredibly underwhelming campaign for the Stamford Bridge club.

Two of Luke Shaw’s six assists last season came in the Premier League, however, following improvements to United’s squad over the course of the summer transfer window, we can perhaps expect more in the upcoming campaign.

Kieran Trippier was one of the players of the season last time out and managed to create seven assists in 38 Premier League matches for Newcastle during 2022/23.

As mentioned above, Salah will be aiming to hit the 25-goal mark in the Premier League for the second time in his career, having last managed to do so in 2017/18 when he fired in 32 times. Interestingly, the ex-Roma man has been close to achieving this feat on more occasions, having scored 22 in 2018/19 and 2020/21, while managing 23 league goals in 2021/22.

Saka’s goal tallies are improving year by year at a fast rate of knots, having scored five in 2020/21, 11 in 2021/22, before scoring 14 in 2022/23. Can the Arsenal academy graduate reach the 20-goal mark for the first time in his career during the 2023/24 season?

Bryan Mbeumo is pivotal to Brentford’s Premier League success story. The Cameroon international scored nine goals last season, meaning that he was the Bees' second top scorer behind Ivan Toney (who is now suspended). In the absence of Toney, Mbeumo will likely have to step up in a bid to decrease any potential goal deficit.

Last season, Haaland managed 36 league goals while Kane scored 30 times. Salah finished with 19 goals, which is staggeringly his joint-lowest tally for Liverpool in the Premier League era.

Arsenal duo Gabriel Martinelli and Saka managed to fire in 15 and 14 goals, perhaps showing that they are more than capable of achieving 15 goals if the Gunners are to make further progress in 2023/24.

Marcus Rashford scored 17 Premier League goals in what was the Manchester United forward’s best-ever Premier League campaign, while Wilson bagged 18 for Newcastle, three more than Aston Villa man Watkins (15).
