Manchester City are the favourites to win the Premier League title having managed to win England’s top flight five times in the last six seasons under Pep Guardiola.

Last season, the Cityzens seemed to get better as the season went on having gone on a run of winning 14 of 15 Premier League games between 12th February and 21st May, while also thrashing the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the Champions League prior to the completion of a famous treble against Inter Milan.

Many pundits have Arsenal down as the second favourites to win the Premier League with the likes of Sky Bet pricing them at 9/2 to do so.

For all of their off-field troubles last season, Manchester United had a promising first season under the management of Erik ten Hag, finishing third in the table on 75 points, 14 worse off than their city rivals.

Having ended a six-year trophy drought last season by winning the League Cup and also managing to acquire the likes of Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund, there is a lot of optimism around Old Trafford for the new campaign.

An area that the Red Devils will need to significantly improve on is their attacking output, having only scored 58 goals last season - potentially their new summer signings can increase the fluidity of the side while the likes of Hojlund can improve on the seven Premier League goals that Cristiano Ronaldo (1), Wout Weghorst (0) and Anthony Martial (6) managed between them.

Newcastle United were the Premier League’s surprise package last season as they managed to finish in fourth place under Eddie Howe - 18 points behind Manchester City.

With Champions League football returning to Tyneside, there is a lot of optimism around the club, especially after making some impressive summer signings as the likes of Tino Livramento, Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes all joining the club.

Something which hasn’t been taken into consideration by many pundits is the impact that Alexander Isak had on the Magpies during the second half of the season, as the Sweden international managed to notch up ten goal contributions, taking some weight off Callum Wilson who also had an excellent goalscoring campaign with 18 goals and five assists in 31 matches.

Chelsea are expected to have a significantly better season following a dismal 2022/23 campaign.

The Blues will be looking to put their 11th-place finish and 44 points tally behind them following a disastrous campaign under the management of Graham Potter and Frank Lampard after Thomas Tuchel’s sacking early on in the season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have made some interesting acquisitions this summer, having signed the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez and Lesley Ugochukwu as they look to create a young and promising squad that can challenge for years to come.

The final team on this list are Tottenham Hotspur who will be hoping to impress under new manager, Ange Postecoglou.

If Spurs can keep Harry Kane on their books this season, then they could pose a decent threat to the Champions League places, as they’ll have the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison and Son Heung-min in behind the England captain.

Tottenham finished 29 points off top of the table Manchester City last time out, having frequently struggled under the management of Antonio Conte and Cristian Stellini prior to Ryan Mason’s interim period towards the end of the campaign.
