          Wolves vs Bournemouth Prediction

Despite their league standing, we are leaning towards a Wolves victory over a Bournemouth side who have been suffering away from home.

Wolves are without a loss in their previous four since the draw against Brighton and the hosts have won their previous two. Bournemouth's form has slipped ever so slightly since the victory over Manchester City, as the Cherries have lost their last two league games on the bounce.

Away from home, Bournemouth have struggled this season, with three losses and only one win in their previous five league games, and the Cherries are without a clean sheet in four.

Goals will likely come in this fixture, with both teams scoring in nine of the previous ten involving Wolves and four of the last five involving Bournemouth. Over 2.5 goals have also been scored in nine of the last ten involving Wolves.

That said, we predict Wolves will take advantage of Bournemouth’s away troubles and record a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.

Wolves vs Bournemouth Preview & Prediction

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be hoping to climb further up the table as they host a Bournemouth side looking for their first win in two.

          Date: 30/11/2024
          Location: Molineux, Wolverhampton.
          Kick-Off: 3 pm

Wolverhampton Wanderers have admittedly struggled this season under Gary O’Neil, as the former Bournemouth manager has been feeling the criticism of their results and structure this season. However, in recent weeks, Gary O’Neil has restored some balance and pride to the Wolves side as they are now on a run of four without losing and six points in their last two games. This recent upturn of form has propelled the hosts up to 17th in the Premier League table and with the potential to bring other teams into play if they were to get a result against Bournemouth. Wolves are six points behind Bournemouth in the Premier League. However, a win for Wolves would move the hosts three points behind the Cherries, considering Bournemouth were looking at the top ten in recent weeks.

Speaking of the visitors, Bournemouth had been impressing in recent weeks, most notably with victories over the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City. However, consecutive defeats to the likes of Brentford and Brighton have dampened the spirits somewhat down at the Vitality Stadium. Following those recent defeats, the Cherries are in 13th place in the Premier League after 12 games. The visitors can move into the top ten with a win, but that will seemingly be unlikely, with results elsewhere having to fall in their favour.

The two meetings last season favoured the visiting side on both occasions. At Molineux, Bournemouth were 1-0 winners thanks to a goal from Antoine Semenyo, despite the Cherries being down to ten men. In this fixture at the Vitality Stadium, Wolves were the 2-1 victors thanks to Matheus Cunha's and Sasa Kalajdzic's goals. Bournemouth were also reduced to ten men in this game.

          Where to watch

The game will not be shown on television in the UK.

          Team News

Boubacar Traore and Yerson Mosquera both remain unavailable for Wolves.

Alex Scott and Luis Sinisterra both remain unavailable for Bournemouth.

          Form Guide

The recent meetings between the two teams suggest a close game on the cards, as the two sides have shared two wins and a draw in the last five meetings. Wolves are without a clean sheet in this fixture in the previous four, whilst this game is not considered a goal-fest, with less than 2.5 goals scored in four of the last five. Bookings usually occur in this fixture, as more than 4.5 cards have been brandished in this fixture, with the previous two meetings resulting in two dismissals for Bournemouth.

Wolves will have to improve their record at home to increase their chances of survival this season. As it stands, Wolves have only won once at Molineux this season, which was against Southampton, considering they have let leads slip against the likes of Manchester City notably. Wolves have averaged 0.67 points per game this season at Molineux, having only scored nine and conceded 14 on home soil.

As mentioned, their most recent home game brought success as they beat Southampton 2-0 thanks to goals from Matheus Cunha and Pablo Sarabia. In their most recent match, Wolves arguably produced their best performance of the season, with a 4-1 humbling of Marco Silva’s Fulham. Thanks in large part to Matheus Cunha's brilliant performance.

As for Bournemouth, their away record also needs improvement, and they will be thankful to know that the form at the Vitality Stadium has kept them adrift thus far. Bournemouth have only won once away from home this season, which was the remarkable comeback at Goodison Park. Since that game in August, they have yet to record an away win in the Premier League.

Bournemouth, as mentioned, lost their previous two, and interestingly, they lost four of their last five on their travels. In their previous away game, they were embroiled in an excellent match at Brentford, where they were beaten 3-2 thanks to a Yoane Wissa brace. Bournemouth led twice during the game.
