          Wolves vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Wolves and Crystal Palace are two sides struggling near the bottom end of the Premier League table. However, Crystal Palace will seek confidence from their recent win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Wolves are still searching for their first win of the Premier League season, having failed to record a victory in their last eight games in all competitions, and no clean sheet has been kept in that sequence of games. Wolves are now without a win in the Premier League in their previous 12 games stretching back to last season, and this campaign, they have the worst defensive record on show with 25 goals conceded in nine games.

Following the victory over Tottenham Hotspur, it will be interesting to see if the Eagles can carry that momentum into the weekend, considering their recent advantageous record against the hosts. The Eagles have won two of their last three visits to Molineux, with both teams scoring in four of the previous five meetings.

That said, we predict a Crystal Palace win at the weekend, although we expect Wolves to provide a challenge of somewhat against Oliver Glasner’s side.

Wolves vs Crystal Palace Preview & Prediction

A potentially massive game at the bottom of the Premier League takes place on Saturday as Wolves, who are still searching for their first win of the campaign, host a Crystal Palace side who will be buoyant following their recent victory.

          Date: 02/11/2024

          Location: Molineux

          Kick-Off: 5:30 pm

Things are certainly looking precarious for Wolves, particularly Gary O’Neil, as his side are struggling to find any consistency or footing in the Premier League this season. Wolves have faced another summer previous, where star players such as Max Kilman and Pedro Neto have amde their departures, which has become a running theme at Molineux. This has left Gary O’Neil with a weakened squad compared to the previous season, and the results reflect poorly on his management tenure with the Midlands club. Wolves are 19th in the Premier League, with only Southampton suffering a worse fate than the hosts for this game. More importantly, they are still yet to register a win, although they have provided spirited performances against the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and, most recently, a comeback against Brighton and Hove Albion. A win for the hosts in this game would see them only go up a place, should Ipswich Town fail to beat Leicester City.

As for Oliver Glasner and Crystal Palace, the Eagles have vastly underperformed this season, judging by their upward trajectory at the latter ends of the season prior. The Eagles are in 17th place in the Premier League with no danger of Wolves overtaking them since they possess a four point lead over the hosts. The departure of Michael Olise has evidently affected the morale and performance of Oliver Glasner’s side, and the Eagles only recently picked up their first win of the season against Ange Postecoglu’s Tottenham Hotspur side.

In the most recent meeting between the two sides, Crystal Palace won at Molineux, in which Wolves were reduced to ten men. Goals from Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze, and Jean-Phillipe Mateta secured the win for the Eagles.

          Where to watch

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event.

          Form Guide

The recent history between the two sides heavily favours the visitors in this fixture, as the Eagles boast an impressive record against the Wolves. Crystal Palace have won two of their last three visits to the Molineux, with the Eagles winning the last three in general against the hosts. From the previous 20 meetings, Wolves have only won seven whilst losing 11 and drawing the two remaining games against the visitors in Crystal Palace.

In their most recent home game in the Premier League, Wolves could have counted themselves rather unlucky on all accounts as they lost out to Manchester City. Wolves were a goal up early doors thanks to Jorgen Strand Larsen’s opener but were pegged back soon after, thanks to a beautiful goal from Josko Gvardiol. Manchester City left it late as a last-minute winner from John Stones snatched a draw away from Gary O’Neil’s side.

Crystal Palace are in abysmal form themselves, although they will be slightly more invigorated following their recent victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Away from home in particular, they have been particularly poor, having lost three of their four away games this season and gaining only a single point, which was against Chelsea away from home. The Eagles have obtained four points from their last 15 on offer, which includes the victory over Tottenham Hotspur and a home draw against Manchester United.

In their most recent away game in the Premier League, the Eagles were defeated by Nottingham Forest. In what was an evenly contested affair, with both teams sharing 20 shots each, Chris Wood capitalised on some suspect goalkeeping from Dean Henderson to secure Nottingham Forest the win.
