The Top Scorer/Winner Odds for Euro 2020 & Our Prediction

Latest News

Kane/England & Kane/Belgium

As the favourite to win the Golden Boot, it is no surprise to see Harry Kane as the shortest odds in this market too. The further a player goes in the competition, the more chance they have of scoring goals, which makes it no surprise that England/Kane has the shortest odds, at 20/1, although a Belgium/Kane selection may also be tempting at 33/1.

After his stellar form in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur, the bookies are backing Kane to continue his run and see England and Belgium as the two most likely winners.

The creative form of English midfielders this season should see Kane have plenty of chances, plus he is the team's designated penalty taker, giving him even more opportunities to boost his already impressive England record. Kane won the Golden Boot at the World Cup in 2018, and with penalties handed out so often, England’s form and creative talent, plus the easier group, Kane is the clear favourite to win the Golden Boot at the Euros.

Lukaku/Belgium & Lukaku/France

Belgium’s record scorer, Romelu Lukaku, has once again reaffirmed his status as one of Europe’s elite strikers this season, finding the back of the net 24 times in 33 games for Inter Milan so far.

Time may be running out for Belgium to make the most of their golden generation, with many of their stars now over 30, so they will be desperate to win some silverware to show for it. Supported by the phenomenal Kevin De Bruyne, Lukaku will likely have plenty of chances to go at, as the Manchester City midfielder has an unrivalled eye for a pass.

If you were to back Belgium/Lukaku, odds of 33/1 are offered, but if you fancy the 27-year-old to top the charts alongside a France win, odds are doubled to 66/1.

Mbappe/England & Mbappe/France

The 2018 World Cup was a breakout tournament for the French star Kylian Mbappe, as he became just the second teenager to ever score in a World Cup final, after Pele. The Paris Saint-Germain star has since improved even more, continuing his superb record in front of goal and becoming one of the true superstars of world football.

Now at 22, Mbappe will be looking to help guide the French to a second successive tournament victory, picking up his first international Golden Boot in the process.

A combination of France/Mbappe is priced at 40/1, but if you back England to win and Mbappe to score the most, odds rise to 66/1.

Ronaldo/Portugal

After winning the Euros in 2016, Portugal go into this summer hoping to become just the second side in history to retain the title, a feat only achieved by Spain. Portugal are significantly arguably better equipped this time around, as the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Ruben Dias have achieved world class status over the past year, as well as the ever-impressive Cristiano Ronaldo still leading the scoring charts in Italy.

Now 36, this is likely to be Ronaldo’s final European Championships and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is currently level with Michel Platini for most Euros goals in European Championship history (9).

Ronaldo is sure to want the record to himself, so the Portugal/Ronaldo combination is currently priced at 66/1 and if Portugal are to retain the title, inevitably, goals from the Juventus star will flow in to.

Griezmann/France

Euro 2016 produced mixed results for Antoine Griezmann, as the Barcelona striker won the Golden Boot and the Player of the Tournament award after a sensational campaign, but his side lost in the final to Portugal, despite being heavy favourites.

This time around, France are second-favourites for the trophy, however, Griezmann is as high as 20/1 to repeat his efforts five years ago, with the bookies seeing his teammate Kylian Mbappe as a more likely winner of the individual award, and rightfully so, given the Barcelona star’s struggles in front of goal nowadays.

The 29-year-old does have a history of scoring in major tournaments, though, so the combination of France/Griezmann at 66/1 may be one to keep in mind, especially considering he has 33 goals in 86 caps for France.

Our Prediction for Euro 2020

It's so tough to look past France and the sensational form of Mbappe.

The Frenchman was one of the driving forces behind securing France's second World Cup, scoring four goals including one in the final - only Kane bagged more to claim the Golden Boot. However, despite the constant threat of Kane and the growing brilliance of England, it's not like France's ability has decreased since their 2018 triumph.

In fact, bar Hugo Lloris in goal and Griezmann and Oliver Giroud up top, the team has only improved. Indeed, Griezmann's form could be a worry, given how he was the top scorer for France at Euro 2016 and at the World Cup alongside Mbappe. However, the PSG star has since improved 10-fold and has naturally closed the worries on strikers of yesteryear like Griezmann and Giroud.

England will be a threat, especially as their group is significantly easier, meaning Kane will likely bag quite a bit. However, with France's superiority and the fact that Mbappe is only getting better, we're baccking France to win and Mbappe to get top scorer, or France to win with Kane top scorer at 33/1.
