Cameron Young ticks plenty of the desired boxes, including having won on the PGA Tour this year and finishing inside the top five in one of the last two majors. Since finishing T3 at The Masters, Young has continued to perform at a high level, including when achieving a top-ten finish last week, when a disappointing three-over in the final round saw him drop down the leaderboard at the Truist Championship.

However, his statement 19-under at Blue Monster when storming to success at the Miami Championship at the start of the month signals that he is ready to make his major breakthrough.

Sam Burns is another player who fits the PGA Championship trends well, with the 29-year-old showing his quality at the opening major of the season when shooting nine-under in the final round to take a share of seventh at The Masters.

His form has continued since then, finishing in the top 40 in the last three events, and failing to shoot over par in his last seven starts. Burns has impressed in majors since finishing T9 at the 2024 U.S. Open, making the cut in the last seven, and claiming top-ten finishes on three occasions.

The trends indicate that he should be capable of fighting for a place this weekend, ensuring that odds of 60/1 make plenty of appeal as an each-way option, especially with bet365 paying 1/5 odds on top-eight finishers.

Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm dominate the Top European betting, but the value play could come in the form of in-form Matt Fitzpatrick.
