It's arguably the biggest game in Welsh football history as they are potentially 90 minutes away from booking a spot at their first World Cup since 1958 while Ukraine come with the world behind them at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Wales have had to 64 years to get themselves back into this position, as this generation of Welsh players further establish themselves as the best Wales team that's ever existed. There have been 'bigger' games than this in some ways, as they are now coming into this one six years after that stunning win over Belgium in the quarter-finals before they lost 2-0 to Portugal in the semi-finals in what was one of the greatest runs in European Championship history, given their standing in the world.
Wales are also in topsy-turvy form right now, and it is not the best time for this gargantuan game to take place, in truth. The all-time top scorer of the national team was on flames that day in Cardiff as he, once again, single-handedly carried Wales into another chance at World Cup qualification. Wales also drew with the Czech Republic in the March games as Rubin Colwill scored in the first half of a 1-1 game in Cardiff.
Ukraine's win over Scotland was monumental in so many ways with the horrors going on in their homeland, and in beautiful style, the men in blue and yellow roared out their national anthem before beating Scotland 3-1 in a fantastic team performance. Andriy Yarmolenko scored once more for Ukraine as his excellent form with his country continued, and his smartly taken goal saw him take the ball down from a Myolenko ball to chip it over Craig Gordon. Roman Yaremchuk also scored another goal for his country, with Artem Dovbyk sealing the deal in the 95th minute as Ukraine caught Scotland on a counter attack.
It's a game that could really go either way. Ukraine are playing for so much, and there's no doubt extra spirit with them right now. Wales have Bale, however, and that means absolutely anything can happen. Bale 2+ shots on target and Yarmolenko 1+ shot on target in 90 mins was 5/2 and is now boosted to 5/1, and that is our tip for the game.
