He may be one of the more controversial players in the world of football, but no one can doubt how supremely talented Dimitri Payet is. Now at the age of 31, he's steadily approaching the home straight of his career with Marseille, where he's still a class act. He's in his second spell with the Ligue 1 outfit after re-joining from West Ham back in January 2017 for a fee of around £25m, which when you consider how much quality he possesses is a bit of a bargain.
His time in East London with the Hammers really put him on the map when it comes to the best attacking players in Europe, with his performances and ability to score incredible goals making him one of the most dominant forces in the Premier League. And despite being away from what is regarded as the worlds best league for a couple of years now, he's still delivering the goods.
Last night his Marseille side welcomed bottom of the table Guingamp to the Velodrome which resulted in a comprehensive victory. They ended the evening winning by 4 goals to nil, with the highlight being an absolutely incredible strike from Payet to put them 2-0 up. He slammed home a brilliant side foot volley to send the home support into delirium and leave the opposition thinking 'wow'. It was a crazy moment and it'll take some beating, with it clearly one of the goals of the season.
