Canada vs Qatar: 63/1 Bet Builder Tip

Hosts Canada lock horns with Qatar in the World Cup on Thursday night as they attempt to claim their first-ever World Cup victory, a feat that would really kick start their campaign.

Canada were held to a 1-1 draw by Bosnia-Herzegovina in their opener in Toronto, a game they'll feel frustrated not to have won.

The North Americans were largely the better side for the majority of the game and created by far the better chances, but poor finishing ultimately forced them to settle for a point.

Qatar, meanwhile, picked up their first-ever World Cup point in dramatic fashion in their opener against Switzerland.

In complete contrast to Canada, Qatar were second best for the entirety of the game against Switzerland, but a wasteful showing from the Europeans let them off the hook time and again.

To their credit, Qatar took full advantage of that and netted a last gasp equaliser following a thumping header.

With that in mind, we've picked out a 63/1 bet builder tip for Thursday's game. Scroll down to see our selections!

    Bet Builder Reasoning

    Canada To Win

Canada are ranked 20 places above Qatar in the world rankings and have home advantage for this fixture. The North Americans have also had some strong results in recent months and are unbeaten in nine games. Qatar, though, have won only one of their last 12 games, a victory over the UAE, and were very fortunate not to get soundly beaten by Switzerland last week - owing to some poor finishing from the Europeans.

    Derek Cornelius To Be Carded

Derek Cornelius is one of the most reliable card collectors in this competition, with the Canadian centre-back averaging 0.41 cards per 90 when representing his nation.

    Ahmed Fathy To Be Carded

Ahmed Fathy is statistically the most card-prone player in the entire Qatar squad, with the midfielder averaging 0.37 cards per 90 when playing for the Asian champions.

Jonathan David To Have 1+ Shots On Target

Jonathan David is one of Canada's main men, and the striker recorded a shot on target against Bosnia in the team's opener. Over the last two seasons at club level, David has averaged 1.06 shots on target per 90.

Edmilson Junior To Have 1+ Shots On Target

Edmilson Junior was one of Qatar's brightest attacking threats in the team's opener against Switzerland, recording two shots on target. In World Cup qualifying, Edmilson averaged 2.12 shots on target per 90 for Qatar.
