Crewe Alexandra host Shrewsbury Town at Gresty Road in a crucial match towards the bottom of League One, with the home side desperate for points.
The last time these two sides went head to head was back in early September at the New Meadow where both sides played out an entertaining 1-1 draw, as Mikael Mandron equalised late on in the first half after Sam Cosgrove’s 19th minute opener.
David Artell’s side have won three of their last five league matches, having beaten the likes of Lincoln City 2-0, Morecambe 2-1 and Charlton Athletic 2-1, with Oliver Finney and Mandron scoring against the Addicks. Alexandra’s two losses came 4-1 away at Burton Albion and 2-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday in early December.
Shrewsbury’s spirited 4-1 FA Cup loss at Anfield against Liverpool brought a good run of form to an end for Steve Cotterill’s side, as Town had taken 10 points from their last four league matches, following 3-1 and 3-0 victories over Cheltenham Town and Fleetwood Town, before drawing 0-0 against Accrington Stanley and beating Sheffield Wednesday.
Prediction: Crewe Alexandra 2-2 Shrewsbury Town 14/1
