AFC Bournemouth vs Wolves Prediction

AFC Bournemouth versus Wolverhampton Wanderers will be an interesting FA Cup tie, especially when considering that the visitors managed a shock 1-0 win at the Vitality Stadium last weekend, which was partially aided by the dismissal of Illia Zabarnyi.

Prior to that meeting, the Cherries had actually won three of the last four head-to-head clashes between the two sides, including a memorable 4-2 win at Molineux back in late November.

Although this is a cup competition, Wolves’ Premier League away record is the fourth-worst in the division, having picked up just 12 points from 14 matches, hence, why we’re predicting Bournemouth to run out as victors in this contest.

Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Wolves

AFC Bournemouth vs Wolves Prediction & Preview

On Saturday, AFC Bournemouth go head-to-head with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Vitality Stadium for the second time in a week, with this clash coming from the 2024/25 edition of the FA Cup.

Date: 01/03/2025

Location: Vitality Stadium

Time: 3pm

This will be the third time that these two sides have faced off this season, with the away side of each individual fixture coming out as victors, as Bournemouth thrashed Wolves 4-2 back on 30th November when Justin Kluivert scored a hat-trick of penalties - becoming the first player in Premier League history to achieve this feet.

Meanwhile, Wolves won 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium last weekend as Matheus Cunha fired in the only goal of the game in the 36th-minute, just five minutes after Illia Zabarnyi was shown a straight red card.

The Cherries are having another impressive campaign under the management of Andoni Iraola, as the Spaniard’s side sit seventh in the table with 43 points from 27 matches, just three points shy of fourth-place Chelsea - there is a real possibility that Bournemouth could qualify for their first-ever major European competition this season.

In terms of cup competitions, Bournemouth were knocked out of the EFL Cup in the Second Round by West Ham United (1-0), while in the FA Cup, they have managed to progress past the likes of West Bromwich Albion (5-1) and Everton (2-0).

Wolves look like they could be on course to consolidate their Premier League status for another season, as they are five points clear of the relegation zone with just 11 league matches to go.

Vitor Pereira’s impact at Molineux has been good, as the Portuguese coach has overseen six wins and one draw in 13 matches since his appointment. A player that has significantly aided Wolves’ form is talismanic figure Matheus Cunha who has scored 14 goals and created four assists in 28 matches across all competitions.

As far as cup competitions go for Wolves, they were knocked out of the League Cup in the Third Round as they suffered a 3-2 loss to Brighton after beating Burnley 2-0 in the Second Round. In the FA Cup, Wolves have beaten two Championship outfits in the shape of Bristol City (2-1) and Blackburn Rovers (2-0) thus far.

Where to Watch

The BBC are providing local radio coverage via BBC West Midlands for this match, as the game will not be broadcast on UK Television due to 3pm blackout laws.
