The FA Cup kicks off this weekend a Oakwell plays host to an interesting fixture as Barnsley face Horsham in the first round.
Barnsley currently sit 5th in League One with eight wins, three draws and our losses from fifteen games so far this season.
Barnsley are going well this season and have steadied following a rocky start to the season so they're coming into this game as heavy favourites as they prepare to face non-league opposition for the first time since 2015 where they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Altricham.
They enter this game in good form, unbeaten in their last five games having won three of those. Most recently Barnsley were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Fleetwood Town.
Their home form has been one of their weaker points of late with their record at Oakwell quite turbulent with just two wins in their last five league games on home soil.
Still, that shouldn't affect them too much given the quality of opposition they're facing here and their record at home in this competition is much more encouraging having won five of their last six FA Cup games at Oakwell, with only Chelsea managing to overcome them in that period.
The Tykes can also boast the top goalscorer in League One at present with Devante Colehaving notched eleven goals in fifteen appearances this season.
All in all this one should not pose too much issue for Barnsley who should progress to the second round of the FA Cup.
Horsham currently sit 7th in the Isthmian League Premier Division with six wins, one draw and three losses from ten games this season.
Currently plying their trade in the seventh tier of English football, the West Sussex club are looking to reach the second round of the FA Cup for just the second time in their history having beaten Maidenhead United in round one back in 2007.
They're coming into this game in very good form having won four of their last five games, including their last three on the bounce, the most recent of which was a 2-1 win away at Larkhall Athletic.
Their form away from home has been equally strong with Horsham having won four of their last five games on the road - including their last three consecutively.
However, Horsham have only played three times away from home in the FA Cup proper and have lost all three of them so they're going to find this one very difficult. A win would be beyond a dream for them but the odds are stacked heavily against them.
For our Barnsley vs. Horsham prediction, we're going for a 3-0 win for the home side.
