Leicester vs. Blackburn Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Leicester vs. Blackburn prediction, we're going for a 3-0 win for the home side

We have a Premier League vs. Championship clash in the FA Cup this week as Leicester City gave Blackburn Rovers.

Leicester City reached the FA Cup 5th round by beating Gillingham and Walsall.

The Foxes have had a tough campaign for the most part, with many people feeling they’ve been underachieving relative to the talent at their disposal.

They do enter this game amidst a solid run of form, however, having won three and drawn two of their last five matches in all competitions.

They have lost their last two games on the bounce, true, but considering those games came against Manchester United and Arsenal they can be forgiven.

Their home form is quite the concern here having won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five matches in home soil.

Regardless, Leicester should have too much for Blackburn Rovers here who’s league position largely belies the quality of the team.

Blackburn Rovers reached the 5th round of the FA Cup by beating Norwich City and Birmingham City after a replay.

Rovers have largely had an extremely successful season in the Championship as they sit in 4th place in the table with a technically limited squad.

They enter this game in good form, too, having won each of their last three consecutive matches while remaining unbeaten in their last nine in all competitions.

However, their results are generally much more impressive than their performances as Rovers regularly underwhelm when they take to the field and are often second best, even when they win.

They are unbeaten in their last five away game, though, and are coming off the back of a 3-1 win away at Queens Park Rangers. They also knocked West Han United out of the League Cup at the London Stadium so they’re no stranger to taking in Premier League opponents on their own turf.

Leicester will likely be too much for Rovers but the Lancashire club can take comfort from the fact we’ve seen far bigger shocks in this competition.

          Leicester Team News

Ryan Bertrand, Jonny Evans and James Justin are all out for The Foxes while James Maddison and Youri Tielemans are both doubtful.

          Blackburn Team News

Blackburn have as many as six first team absentees for this one including key starters such as Bradley Dack, Daniel Ayala and Thomas Kaminski.

Sorba Thomas is also ineligible having featured in this competition for Huddersfield earlier in the season.
