Manchester City welcome Huddersfield Town to the Etihad this weekend, where they will look to defend their FA Cup title. The last time the Terriers travelled to City, they suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat.
Man City
Man City have been excellent as always, and in truth, this game will provide Pep Guardiola with an opportunity to rest some key players and give others vital minutes to rebuild their fitness. The Citizens are currently third in the Premier League, winning six of their nine home matches.
City are the top scorers in the Premier League with 45 goals in 19 matches, while also conceding just 21. Last weekend, they picked up a routine 2-0 victory at home to Sheffield United.
Huddersfield
Huddersfield and now Darren Moore’s side have been poor this season, winning just five of their 26 matches in the Championship. This puts them in 21st with 25 points. The Terriers have been leaky at the back, conceding 44, and unconvincing in attack, scoring just 26.
Last time out, they suffered their third defeat in five matches as they lost 4-1 to Leicester. In short, they were dominated from the first minute and never put up a fight.
Verdict?
There is only going to be one winner in this game, and even if the visitors did take a three-goal lead, it is reasonable to presume City would overturn it.
The difference in quality between the two sides is too far apart for Huddersfield to test their Premier League opposition.
The final prediction is Man City 5-0 Huddersfield.
