Two sides gunning for promotion meet in League One this week as Barnsley face Portsmouth.
Barnsley currently sit 5th in League One with four wins, one draw and two losses from their first two league games of the season.
The Tykes have had an up and down start to the campaign after going on a very concerning run in their first few games, but they now seem to be right back on track following a good run of results.
They're coming into this game having won each of their last four consecutive matches in all competitions, all by the scoreline of 2-0.
Their most recent outing saw them cruise to a comfortable 2-0 win against Burton Albion courtesy of a brace from Devante Cole.
The win means Barnsley have now won three straight games in League One, a run that saw much-needed after going four without a win.
The harshest of critics might argue that Barnsley have had a kind run of fixtures in the recent period of wins having faced sides currently 23rd, 22nd and 20th in the table but they've won those games with a degree of assuring comfort so there's still plenty of cause for positivity.
Their form at home has been hit and miss so far as they come into this one having won two and lost two of their six home games in the league.
This game will be a markedly tougher one than their last few so they'll have to be at their best to win, but momentum is very much with them here so they should be positive.
Portsmouth currently sit 6th in League One with three wins and four draws from their first seven league games of the season.
Pompey weren't massively fancied as a promotion favourite coming into this season and while they haven't exactly been pulling up trees they are now the only unbeaten side left in the league.
They're coming into this game amidst a fairly mixed run of league form having won two and drawn three of their last five league games, the most recent of which was a 1-1 draw away at Derby County.
Portsmouth feel behind to a Derby penalty in the 86th minute before Colby Bishop dramatically rescued a point for the South Coast side just as though it looked all was lost.
As such, they're coming into this game off the back of a result that will have felt like a win so they'll be confident of getting a big result here.
For our Barnsley vs. Portsmouth prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
