          Blackpool vs Charlton Athletic Preview, Tips & Stats

          Charlton Athletic travel to Bloomfield Road to take on Blackpool this Saturday. Blackpool are looking to break into the League One Play-offs whereas Charlton is looking to navigate the busy League One midtable.

          Blackpool currently sit eighth in League One after 28 games. The Tangerines have 13 wins, six draws and nine losses, leaving them on 45 points, four points behind Oxford United in the Play-offs.

          In their last five games in all competitions, Blackpool have three wins, one draw and one loss.

          In the Third Round of the FA Cup, Blackpool took on Premier League Nottingham Forest. Jordan Lawrence-Gabriel and Albie Morgan gave Blackpool a quickfire 2 - 0 lead, but a goal from Nicolas Dominguez got Forest in the game before halftime. A goal from Morgan Gibbs-White in the early stages of the second half rescued a 2 - 2 draw for Forest and forced the replay. In the Third Round of the Football League Trophy, Blackpool hosted Burton. Matty Virtue and Marvin Akpereogene Paul Edem gave Blackpool a 2 - 0 lead. Dylan Scott did grab a goal for Burton, but Blackpool held on for the 2 - 1 win.

          Back in League One, Blackpool faced Exeter City. Morgan grabbed a goal in each half to give Blackpool the 2 - 0 win despite having just five shots on target. The FA Cup Third Round Replay saw Blackpool hosting Nottingham Forest. Andrew Omobamidele gave Nottingham Forest the 1 - 0 lead at halftime and Danilo doubled that lead just one minute into the second half. Morgan and Kyle Joseph both scored in the second half to level the game. However, a goal from Chris Wood in extra time gave Forest the 3 - 2 win.

          The last time out for Blackpool was against Bristol Rovers. CJ Hamilton opened the scoring for Blackpool in the fifth minute and Karamoko Dembele doubled the lead before the 20 minute mark.           Chem Campbell opened the scoring for Charlton in the fifth minute but Mark Harris equalised for Oxford United before halftime. However, Oisin Smyth grabbed a goal in the 85th minute to give Oxford the 2 - 1 win. Corey Blackett-Taylor gave Charlton the lead but a penalty from Ethan Chislett levelled the game before halftime. Daniel Kanu regained the lead from Charlton but once again Port Vale equalised, this time through Uche Ikpeazu. Tyreece Campbell thought he had won it for Charlton but a goal from Gavin Massey forced a 3 - 3 draw.

          Peterborough grabbed the 1 - 0 lead at halftime through Ephron Mason-Clarke’s first goal. Alfie May equalised for Charlton just four minutes in the second half but Mason-Clarke’s second goal gave Peterborough the 2 - 1 win. Mark Helm and John Brayford both scored in the 2 - 0 win for Burton, despite Charlton having 73% of the possession.

          The most recent outing for Charlton was against Northampton Town. Tyreece Simpson opened the scoring for Northampton in the seventh minute but an own goal from Aaron Joseph McGowan levelled the game. Sam Hoskins regained the lead for Northampton but a goal from Tennai Watson in the added time of the first half. Following the red card to Charlton’s Tayo Edun, Louis George Appere scored in the 97th minute to give Northampton the 3 - 2 win.
