Wigan Athletic are staying on the road this weekend with a trip to Bloomfield Road where Blackpool are aiming to get back in the win column and finally find some consistency in League One this campaign.
After relegation from the Championship, it's been another tough start to the season in the third tier for Blackpool. Their poor run of form continued last weekend with a 3-0 loss away to Lincoln City where Ollie Norburn was sent off.
This did mark the end of a bizarre run for the Tangerines that saw them draw 0-0 three times in a row with goalless draws against Exeter City, Port Vale and Leyton Orient. Prior to this, the club recorded a fantastic 2-0 win over Burton Albion on the opening weekend and a 2-0 win over Derby County in the EFL Cup first round.
This does also mean the best defensive record in the league for Blackpool with just three goals let in and four clean sheets so far. However, with so many goalless draws, only Cheltenham Town at the bottom of the table have scored fewer goals.
As for Wigan, they lost without scoring and getting a red card last weekend too, as Charlie Hughes received his marching orders in a 2-0 defeat to Barnsley.
Wigan did smash Bolton Wanderers 4-0 before this with three goals in the first half in a game that saw Charlie Wyke and Stephen Humphrys scored a brace each.
Other results this season have seen Wigan exit the EFL Cup in the first round after a penalty shootout loss to Wrexham, while they've also drawn with Carlisle United but defeated Northampton Town and Derby County.
