For our Bristol Rovers vs. Barnsley prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
Barnsley are looking to continue their excellent form in League One as they travel south to face Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
Bristol Rovers currently sit 15th in League One with eleven wins, eight draws and fourteen losses from thirty-three games this season.
Joey Barton's side have endured a fairly frustrating campaign this time around having regularly shown flashes of being a side capable of mounting a play-off push, particularly when facing the league's better sides, but having frequently undone their own good work when playing teams they should beat more comfortably they've failed to nail down a consistent run.
They enter this game amidst a fairly poor run of form overall having won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five matches.
They did, however, win their most recent game in a thumping 3-0 win away at Oxford United so they'll be hoping that means they've turned a corner in their form.
Bristol Rovers are ten points clear of the relegation zone so there's no immediate worry regarding a drop down to League Two this season, but they still need a few more wins to make sure. A win this weekend would be an impressive one, but considering who they're playing it feels unlikely.
Barnsley currently sit 6th in League One with eighteen wins, five draws and eight losses from thirty-one games this season.
The Tykes are having a fantastic campaign in League One despite having started fairly slowly. Michael Duff's side struggled for consistency in the early months of the season but a hugely impressive recent run has them sat in the play-off spots and looking good for a top six finish.
They enter this game amidst an excellent run of form having won six and drawn one of their last seven matches in the league.
Most recently, Barnsley registered arguably the most impressive win of the recent run having battered Derby County 4-1 at Oakwell.
Barnsley's away form paints a highly encouraging picture enter this game, with The Tykes winning three and drawing one of their last four matches on the road.
Barnsley cruised to a 3-0 win against Bristol Rovers when the two sides met in the league back in August, and while this game should be tougher given they're away from home Barnsley are a much better side than they were back then so they can be confident.
Expect a competitive encounter here but they away side should win by a narrow margin.
