Burton Albion will play hosts to Accrington Stanley this weekend in League One with the two clubs heading into this game down in the bottom six of the table with a loss for either side set to be arguably their worst result of the season.
Burton were treated to a midweek off and were able rest a few players and witness the relegation fight take another turn in the process. Ahead of the game, the Brewers are sitting 18th in the table with nine wins and 15 losses. On the other hand, despite them climbing up the table and clear of the relegation zone lately, they have still let in 58 goals and head into this one with the worst defensive record in the division after Forest Green - this means no side outside of last place have conceded more.
On the other hand, Burton have still secured 40 goals of their own and now come into this one ad the highest scorers in the bottom seven. In fact, their 40 goals scored is just eight fewer than Bolton Wanderers in fourth, while Burton have also played two games fewer than the Wanderers.
The club narrowly defeated Bristol Rovers last weekend too, as Charlie Kirk scored in the first half before Sam Winnall won it for the Brewers away from home and from behind.
As for Accrington, they met with Bolton in the semi-finals of the Football League Trophy in midweek, which no doubt now hands a lot in the favour of Burton. Back in League One, Accrington are in tatters. The club are only above the bottom three by one point, although they will be confident in surviving this season with them currently having two games in hand over MK Dons, Cambridge United and even three games over Forest Green.
Accrington have struggled with form, however, and every time they have won a game in recent weeks, they've gone on to drop points in the next. So far in February, they've lost to Lincoln City before drawing with Port Vale and Cheltenham Town. They then went on to lose to Wycombe Wanderers before returning to the win column last weekend against Shrewsbury Town at home. Aaron Pressley scored that day for the club to keep them in 21st.
