Burton vs Sheffield Wednesday Prediction, Tips & Stats

Burton Albion and Sheffield Wednesday will clash at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday as the Yorkshire side aims to take another huge leap towards winning the League One title with the Brewers still down in 18th.

It's been a long and tiresome season for Burton and they now come into this game off the back of another loss to Charlton Athletic. It means they come into this game with the second-most goals let in this season with 74 and with 18 defeats on the board from 39 games.

On the other hand, they remain eight above the bottom three and also come into this one with two games in hand on the three sides above them in the table which could throw the Brewers up into 15th in the long run.

The club did previously avoid defeat in the three games before that Monday loss, as Burton registered a fantastic victory over the high-flying Barnsley and drew 0-0 with Cheltenham Town after losing 3-2 to Port Vale.

Wednesday come into this game after defeating Accrington Stanley 3-0 to end a previous three-game winless run that saw them draw with Cheltenham, Lincoln City and Oxford United. Nevertheless, the Owls are still above Plymouth Argyle and Ipswich Town in the table by one and two points respectively, although both those have a game in hand which could launch the Owls into third over the coming weeks.

          Sheffield Wednesday team news.

Wednesday are coming into this one with very few injuries to deal with but they have recently moved Reece James into midfield. Rio Shipston has been getting a lot more game time recently and should feature here and Callum Paterson is back in the squad now too. Tyreeq Bakinson is also back in the lineup and should get minutes in this one. Dominic Iorfa and Jaden Brown both missed the last outing and should feature at some point in this game. Will Vaulks should get more minutes in midfield, also Dennis Adeniran scored twice in the 3-0 win over Accrington and should start once more. We expect to see Barry Bannan line up with Lee Gregory and Wilks once again in the attacking setup

          Burton team news

Gassan Ahadme is back with Burton and got minutes in the loss to Charlton and may start in this one. Bobby Kamwa and Zac Ashworth continue to get minutes and will likely get some more in this one. Mustapha Carayol is set to miss this game through injury, but Helm, Josh Walker and Taylor should all remain in the attack for Burton. Thierry Ricky Everton Latty-Fairweather has got a starting role in the past few months with Cameron Borthwick-Jackson missing through injury, and he should line up with Powell and Brayford in midfield.
