Carlisle United are attempting to climb out of the relegation zone in League One as they face Cheltenham Town this weekend.
Carlisle United currently sit 21st in League One with three wins, seven draws and eleven losses from twenty-one games this season.
It's been an expectedly tough campaign for the Cumbrians who are fighting for their lives in League One following their promotion last time out.
They're entering this game out of form having won just one of their last nine games in the league, the most recent of which was a 2-2 draw at home to Northampton Town.
The draw against Northampton was a sickener for Carlisle who, after taking the lead in the 81st minute through a goal from Ryan Edmondson, conceded a 93rd minute equaliser to confirm what can only be classed as two points dropped.
The disappointment at that result will be hard to shake off so they have a difficult task attempting to do that in such a short space of time.
Their form at home hasn't been much better either, as they come into this game having won just one of their last seven league games on home soil.
Things are looking promising for Carlisle at all but they can take comfort from the fact they're only three points shy of safety. If they remain at arms length away from the sides above them they can easily put a run together at the back end of the season and secure safety so there's no need to panic just yet.
As far as this game is concerned it's nothing short of a must-win as the inability to beat the side rock bottom of the table in your own backyard makes it hard to justify the prospect of survival.
Cheltenham Town currently sit bottom of the League One table with three wins, four draws and thirteen losses from twenty games this season.
Cheltenham might be rock bottom of the table but their form over the course of the last couple of months does offer some encouragement.
After an awful start to the campaign, the Robins have started to turn things around somewhat with twelve of their thirteen points all coming in their last nine games.
Their most recent game saw them fall victim to a heartbreaking loss at home to Leyton Orient after conceding two goals at the death in a 1-2 loss after they took the lead on 68 minutes despite playing with ten men from the 18th minute onwards.
They need to avoid letting that result affect them here as their form overall is still solid. This is a hugely winnable game for the Robins and would allow them to gain some much-needed ground on a side above them. Expect them to give as good as they get in this one.
For our Carlisle vs. Cheltenham prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
