14th takes on 24th in League One this weekend with Charlton Athletic welcoming Carlisle United to The Valley with the London side aiming to keep up their positive form from the past month with aims of the top half.
After struggles once more in the first few months of the season, Charlton head into this game up into 14th and within eight points of the top half of the table where Northampton Town sit. This run has seen Charlton avoid a loss in the past six games with their last defeat coming at the hands of Reading a month ago.
The club started this run with a 1-1 draw and a 3-3 clash with Bolton Wanderers where Daniel Kanu, Lloyd Jones and Thierry Small all netted in the 3-3 away draw to the second-placed side.
Another commendable draw come in thereafter as the Atticks drew 0-0 with the league leaders Portsmouth. Alife May was back amongst the goals in yet another excellent result over a side in the top three, as his penalty kept him top of the League One goalscoring charts and also got all three points against Derby County from behind. Karoy Anderson got the other goal.
Anderson scored in the 1-1 draw with Northampton shortly after, as Kanu and May netted again in the 3-1 win over Cheltenham Town alongside a finish from Tyreeq Bakinson.
As for Carlisle, their season continues to go up in flames by the week with a spot back in League Two all but guaranteed already. The club did end an eight-game winning run the other week by winning 1-0 away to Burton Albion, but they were once again thrown right back into the loss column with a 3-1 defeat to Reading at Brunton Park.
The losing run before this for the Cumbrians saw them lose to Bristol Rovers, Cambridge Untied, Portsmouth, Leyton Orient, Bolton Wanderers, Barnsley, Oxford United and Exeter City. Carlisle defeated Port Vale at home before this back on New Year's Day.
They now have a gap of 11 points on Cheltenham Town in 21st place and have also managed to lose 22 games and claim just five victories. This has also seen the Cumbrians move to a gap of eight points behind 23rd-placed Fleetwood Town, and a spot in last place is all but on the cards for certain with them.
