For our Cheltenham vs. Barnsley prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
Barnsley are looking to continue their excellent form as they travel to face Cheltenham Town in League One this weekend.
Cheltenham Town are currently 18th in League One with nine wins, six draws and fifteen losses from thirty games this season.
The Robins' season has been a topsy-turvy one up until this point but overall it's been quite successful with Wade Elliott's side having navigated their way out of a difficult position in the early weeks of the season as they looked primed to be a perpetual struggler, only to transform their outlook and spend most of the ensuing months well clear of the drop zone.
Their form has tailed off, though, as they now sit much closer to trouble and they enter this game amidst a generally poor run of form having won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five league matches.
They did, however, claim a sorely-needed win in their most recent match as they beat Cambridge United 2-1 away from home on Tuesday night. The win allowed Cheltenham to put daylight between themselves and the relegation zone and relieve a bit of pressure.
The Robins are currently five points clear of the relegation zone and are most certainly part of the relegation battle. They need to keep collecting wins but unfortunately this encounter looks to be an exceptionally difficult one.
Barnsley currently sit 6th in League One with sixteen wins, five draws and eight losses from twenty-nine games this season.
The Tykes are having an excellent season in League One as they desperately look to return to the Championship. They look in an extremely healthy position, too, as they;'re currently trending as one of the league's most in form teams.
They enter this game having won four and drawn one of their last five matches in the league, the most recent of which was a 3-1 win away at Port Vale on Tuesday night.
Granted, Wade Elliott's side have had a kind run in terms of fixture difficulty over their last five games but if it was so easy to string wins like that together then every side would do it.
Their away form is solid enough having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five league games on the road, and considering they've taken seven points from their last three away trips they can feel confident here.
Barnsley beat Cheltenham 1-0 when the two sides met in August in the league given their exceptional form they should expect themselves to take another three points here.
