It's arguably the biggest game of the season for both Cheltenham Town and Carlisle United with the two teams sitting in the relegation zone ahead of this clash and with little hopes of survival right now.
Cheltenham's form has greatly improved in the past few weeks with them managing to claim three wins in the past give games and have now moved off the foot of the table and to within a touching distance of Reading in the safe spot of 21st.
The Robins managed to get a stunning win at home over the table-topping Portsmouth, as Liam Sercombe managed to get two goals win the second half within three minutes of each other after Tom Bradbury scored an unfortunate own goal to give Pompey the lead two minutes prior to his first finish.
Cheltenham did suffer a loss on New Year's Day to Northampton Town away from home, but with a 2-2 draw with Reading coming in the game before that, it does mean only one loss in the past month for the Robins.
Other results in this period have seen Cheltenham get a 2-0 win over Shrewsbury Town back on Boxing Day with George Lloyd managing to score a goal in either half of a 2-0 win - Salop had 16 shots that day but not a single one of those hit the target.
The club have also managed to get a win over their weekend opposition in this period too, as Sercombe racked up another goal in a win at Brunton Park against Carlisle. The Cumbrians had just two shots on target that day in what was one of their worst displays of the season.
As for Carlisle, such results mean a poor run of form for them since around November, although they did manage to get a win over Port Vale on New Year's Day.
The club have, however, gone on to lose to Exeter City, Oxford United and Barnsley last time out, although they did manage to score a goal in each of those games. Carlisle have now still only won four games, which is two fewer than that of Cheltenham's tally, and this now means a three-point gap on them and Reading in the safe spot of 21st. The North West outfit are also only above Fleetwood Town in last place by two points.
