Forest Green are looking for a strong end to life in League One after facing immediate relegation back into League Two already as the club heads on the road to meet with Cheltenham Town at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium.
It's been a tough season since the start for Forest Green and their first-ever campaign in the third tier has ended in complete misery with 28 losses on the board now. The club have now played out 43 games after a 0-0 draw with Fleetwood Town that puts them on 27 points and adrift of Cambridge United in the safe zone by 13 points.
In fact, with the gap on Accrington Stanley in 23rd now 11 points, the club are guaranteed to finish bottom of the table.
Also in April, Duncan Ferguson's men have lost 5-1 to Barnsley and 2-0 to Wycombe Wanderers while also losing to Derby County 2-0 and Portsmouth 1-0. It leaves the club on a five-game winless run where they've scored just one goal of their own. Oddly enough, they still managed to defeat Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 a few weeks back.
Cheltenham are on a five-game winless run too ever since they defeated Exeter City 3-1 just before the international break. The club then went on to draw 2-2 with Sheffield Wednesday, 0-0 with Burton Albion and then lost to Lincoln City 2-0. The Robins have recently drawn 1-1 with Ipswich Town and 2-2 with MK Dons.
With Forest Green already down, Cheltenham are likely to be safe with their gap of nine points on Morecambe in 22nd. There are still four games to play for Robins, so they can be brought into the bottom three if they lose all their games and those below them win their outings.
This is very doubtful, however, and Cheltenham will be eying up a spot in 16th over time with Burton Albion only two points above them.
