Fleetwood welcome Derby County to Highbury this Saturday for the second weekend of League One football in 2024. The two sides sit at opposite ends of the table and desperately need a win for both their ambitions of survival or promotion.
Fleetwood currently sit bottom of the League One table after 24 games. The Fishermen have four wins, six draws and 14 losses, leaving them on 18 points, two points from the others in the relegation zone and five points away from safety.

Archie Finn Collins scored the only goal of the game in the first half to give Peterborough the 1 - 0 win, with Fleetwood only managing 27% of the possession and three shots on target. However, next time out against top of the league Portsmouth was better. A Colby Bishop penalty gave Portsmouth the lead at halftime, but a goal from Josh Earl grabbed a 1 - 1 draw for Fleetwood where they restricted Portsmouth to just two shots on target.
It was another 1 - 1 draw for Fleetwood, this time against fellow relegation candidates Carlisle. Owen Moxon opened the scoring for Carlisle but Jayden Stockley equalised before halftime. Neither side could find another goal and had to settle for a point. Dion Charles and Victor Adeboyejo both scored in the 2 - 0 win for Bolton over Fleetwood.
The last time out for Fleetwood was against Shrewsbury Town. Shaun Rooney managed to get on the scoresheet for Fleetwood but goals from Nohan Kenneh, Chey Dunkley and Jordan Shipley gave Shrewsbury the 3 - 1 win.
Derby, on the other hand, currently sit fourth. In 24 games, The Rams have 14 wins, four draws and six losses which leaves them on 46 points, three points within the Play-offs and five points from automatic promotion.
In their last five games in all competitions, Derby have three wins, one draw and one loss.
The one draw for Derby came against Wycombe. Tom Barkhuizen thought he had won it for The Rams with his goal in the 83rd minute, but a 98th minute penalty from Luke Leahy meant the game finished 1 - 1. Conor Hourihane gave Derby the lead, but a penalty from Daniel Mandroiu meant it was equal at halftime. Kane Wilson and James Collins both scored in the second half to give Derby the 3 - 1 win.
Curtis Nelson scored the only goal of the game in the 19th minute to give Derby the 1 - 0 win over Wigan. An early brace from Cameron Brannagan gave Oxford United the 2 - 0 lead, but Craig Forsyth got Derby in the game before halftime. Liam Thompson and Eiran Cashin both scored in the second half in a 3 - 2 comeback win for Derby.
The most recent outing for Derby was against Peterborough. Collins gave Derby the lead in the first minute but Harrison Burrows equalised before the ten minute mark. Collins regained the lead with his second goal, but late goals from Kwame Poku and Rick-Jade Jones gave Peterborough the 3 - 2 win.
Fleetwood and Derby have only met four times in their histories, with the first meeting coming as recently as 2022. Fleetwood have only won on one occasion, with Derby winning twice and the two teams sharing points once in their first meeting.
