Fleetwood vs. Stevenage Prediction, Tips & Stats

Two sides with contrasting fortunes meet in League One this weekend as Fleetwood town face Stevenage.

Fleetwood Town currently sit 21st in League One with four wins, four draws and eight losses from sixteen games this season.

The Cod Army have struggled greatly this season, which is of little surprise to most, as they find themselves inside the relegation zone with a quarter of the campaign played.

They are, though, coming into this game in decent form having gone unbeaten in their last four league games, winning two and drawing two of those.

Their most recent league fixture saw them run out convincing 3-0 winners over Exeter City courtesy of goals from Ryan Broom, Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu and Phoenix Patterson.

The win over Exeter was a significant one given it came over a relegation rival, and if Fleetwood can find a way to consistently take points from those games they will massively bolster their chances of survival.

Their form at home has been pretty mixed recently with the Cod Army having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five on home soil but given they've taken four points from their last two home games they'll feel in good shape here.

They have a stern test ahead of them this weekend but this is the best run of form they've been in all season so if ever they're going to beat a side in the top six it'll likely be now.

Stevenage currently sit 4th in League One with nine wins, five draws and four losses from eighteen games this season.

It's been a frankly excellent showing from the newly promoted Stevenage as they find themselves bang in the middle of the promotion race heading towards the Christmas period.

They're entering this game in excellent form having won all of their last five games in all competitions and having also gone unbeaten in their last five in the league, winning their last three on the bounce.

Their most recent outing saw them claim a 1-0 win over Lincoln City courtesy of a Jamie Reid strike in the 68th minute.

Manager Steve Evans will be delighted with his side's defensive solidity in recent games with Stevenage having conceded just two goals in their last five in the league; if they can maintain that then they'll likely stick around in the top six.

Stevenage are favourites for this one but it's a serious banana skin fixture given how well Fleetwood have been performing so they'll have to be at their best to claim all three points here.

For our Fleetwood vs. Stevenage prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

      Fleetwood Team News

Having found themselves 3-0 up at half-time in the win over Exeter it's overwhelmingly likely that manager Lee Johnson will name the same starting lineup for this one.

Junior Quitirna missed that game through injury but should be fit for this one, but will likely have to settle for a place on the bench.

      Stevenage Team News

Jamie Reid now has eleven goals for the Boro in League One and will be looking to add to his tally here.

Jake Forster-Caskey and Ben Thompson will both be hoping to be given the nod by Steve Evans.
