Forest Green are in search of just their sixth win of the season as they aim to bring Bristol Rovers closer to the bottom end of the table after a terrible run of form for the away side ahead of this one.
Bristol did manage to smash Oxford United 3-0 two weeks ago, but this was just their their first win in seven games as the club immediately returned to winless ways after a 0-0 draw with Barnsley last time out. The club also head into this one with losses to Lincoln CIty, Burton Albion, Morecambe, Accrington Stanley and MK Dons in recent weeks - all these sides are lower than them in the table.
It has thrown Bristol down in 15th in the table now with just 11 losses on the board and 14 defeats too. Worse yet, they have now let in 55 goals after losing to Morecambe 5-1 a few weeks back, which now means the club have the worst defensive record for those sitting outside of the relegation zone.
As for Forest Green, they are still in last place for yet another week with them having a seven-point gap on MK Dons in 22nd to deal with and a gap of 10 points on Morecambe. Ultimately, they have been staring in the face of immediate relegation back into League Two for a long time and they already seemingly have one foot back in the fourth tier.
Forest Green have let in the most goals this season with 66, while only Cheltenham Town in 17th have scored fewer goals than their 27th. At the same time, the club come into the game with 22 games lost - this is the most inside the Football League this campaign.
