Leyton Orient and Bristol Rovers battle it out in a top-half-of-the-table showdown with the London side within touching distance of the playoff spots after an excellent win during the week as Bristol sit down in 12th.
Orient's 1-0 win over Blackpool came thanks to Ollie O'Neill in the second half which has now kept the club within five points of Stevenage in sixth and moved them above the Tangerines in ninth and into eighth. Orient recorded their 15th win of the season that day, but with 11 losses on the board, only Northampton, Bristol Rovers and Blackpool have lost more in the top half of the table.
Orient also defeated Oxford United last weekend with a 2-1 win away from home that once again reignited their hopes of a spot in the top six playoff spots. Further wins over Carlisle United, Port Vale and Northampton Town mean just two defeats in February to Burton Albion at home and away to Barnsley. In fact, after stunning Portsmouth 3-0 down at Fratton Park and beating Cambridge United and Bolton Wanderers back in January, it now means only two losses in League One in 2024 so far.
As one of the most in-form teams, Orient still only sit with a price of EVENS to win this game. Bristol have managed to get impressive wins in February, however, beating Stevenage, Exeter City and Carlisle. However, with losses to Northampton, Fleetwood and Burton Albion last month, their hopes of a spot in the playoffs have taken a huge hit.
Rovers are now behind the top six by 13 points, and unless a solid run of form comes throughout March leading into April, it's tough to see how they can end up in the playoffs this season. Worse yet, Bristol have now let in 49 goals and scored 47, alongside just 13 wins and the most losses in the top half of the table with 14.
