Leyton Orient and Portsmouth are set to clash at Brisbane Road in what is Leyton Orient's first home game in League One for nine seasons as Pompey aim to put together a promotional bid after an underwhelming season last time out.
Portsmouth finished seven points adrift of the playoffs in the end, but their damage was done earlier in the season when they sat outside of the top 10 for many weeks. An unbeaten end towards the campaign saw them put together a solid run and edge closer to the top six, but for a club of Portsmouth's stature, it was once again a tough season to take.
In the end, the south coast side secured 17 wins and lost only 10 times - only those in the top three managed to lose fewer games. Portsmouth did, however, draw 19 times and score only 61 goals in 46 games - no side scored fewer in the top eight than they did.
Pompey drew with Bristol Rovers in their first outing, as Kusini Yengi scored in the 92nd minute of the game to snatch a draw. Portsmouth had five shots on target that day from 19 efforts towards goal. The club then got their first win of the season in an EFL Cup win away to League Two's Forest Green, as Yengi netted twice that day alongside a finish from Zak Swanson.
Leyton Orient have started out their life in League One in dismal style. The club would lose 1-0 to Charlton Athletic on gameday one, as the London side had just three shots on target with nine efforts in total. Worse yet, Orient were beaten by Plymouth Argyle in the first round of the EFL Cup back on Tuesday after having just one shot on target.
