Leyton Orient vs. Wigan Prediction, Tips & Stats

Leyton Orient continue their search for a sorely needed win as they face Wigan Athletic in League One this weekend.

Leyton Orient currently sit 14th in League One with five wins, five draws and seven losses from seventeen games.

Newly promoted Leyton Orient have had an up-and-down time following last season's title win in League Two and look very much like a side that will be involved - at least somewhat - in this season's relegation battle.

They're entering this game very much out of form having failed to win any of their last five games in the league, the most recent of which was a 0-1 loss to Lincoln City in midweek.

That defeat confirmed their second loss on the bounce and means they're now four points outside of the relegation zone having played one game more than three of the four sides occupying the dreaded drop zone.

Both of Lincoln's last two losses have come on home soil so their home form is looking rocky heading into this game, something they're going to have to address if they have serious hopes of kicking on in this league.

They're in dire need of a win here but face a difficult test against a well-rounded side.

Wigan Athletic currently sit 18th in League One with eight wins, two draws and seven losses from seventeen games this season.

The Latics have had a fairly solid season in terms of results given if not for their eight-point deduction at the start of the season they'd currently be in 9th place and only one point shy of the playoff spots.

They're coming into this one in good form on the whole having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five games, the most recent of which was a 1-1 draw away at Cheltenham Town.

The draw at Cheltenham was slightly disappointing but not an awful result given the Robins were on an excellent run of form so they'll take the point and move on.

Their away form is generally slightly concerning, however, with the Latics having won just one of their last six games on the road - losing four of those.

They're facing a side bang out of form here so they'll feel as though they have a good chance to potentially kickstart a good run of away wins but they'll have to improve upon recent showings on the road.

Wigan are the superior side here and should avoid defeat.

For our Leyton Orient vs. Wigan prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.

Midfielder Max Sanders will be looking for a place in the starting lineup here after working his way back from injury.

Jordan Brown is a major doubt after missing the defeat against Lincoln, so Darren Pratley could drop out for Sanders here.
