Derby County’s automatic promotion charge continues this weekend as they face Lincoln City in League One.
Lincoln City currently sit 12th in League One with eight wins, nine draws and ten losses from twenty-seven games this season.
The Imps have been in up and down in terms of form but are coming into this one completely out of shape having won just one of their last ten games in all competitions.
Their very recent form in particular has been poor with Michael Skubala’s side having lost four of their last five games, the most recent of which was a 1-1 draw with Wycombe Wanderers.
The game at Wycombe was very nearly a fifth straight loss for the Imps but Ethan Erhahon’s 98th-minute equaliser spared them the agony to salvage what could be an important point.
They’re currently winless in their last six league games on home soil so all things considered, it’s hard to think of many reasons in favour of them avoiding defeat here.
They’re still ten points clear of the relegation zone so they won’t be worried about falling that far just yet, but if things don’t improve in the coming weeks it could get very nervy for the Imps.
Derby County currently sit 3rd in League One with sixteen wins, four draws and six losses from twenty-six games this season.
Following a slow start, the Rams have been surging in League One and are edging closer to the top two places in the league table as the weeks pass by.
Since the end of October, Derby have been in rampant form as they come into this game having lost only one of their last twelve matches, winning ten of those.
Their latest outing saw them claim a 3-2 win over Burton Albion which came in dramatic fashion as Conor Hourihane netted a 93rd-minute winner to secure all three points following prior goals from Tom Barkhuisen and James Collins.
They’re coming into this one having been faultless away from home too, with Paul Warne’s side having won all of their last five games on the road.
They’ve won both of their last two head-to-head meetings with Lincoln and have lost just one of the last five, including a cruising 3-1 win in the league last month, so they’ll feel as though there’s no reason they shouldn’t take another three points from this one.
For our Lincoln vs. Derby prediction, we’re going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
