13th and 17th will meet in League One this weekend with Lincoln City set to welcome Port Vale to the LNER Stadium off the back of an incredible run of form for the Imps that has seen them close in on achieving their goals of a top half finish.
Lincoln have not tasted a loss since losing on the road to Fleetwood Town 2-1 a few weeks back with the club bouncing back with a positive 1-1 draw away to the league leaders Sheffield Wednesday. Lincoln then eased past Cheltenham Town 2-0 thanks to a brace in the second half from Ben House.
However, it was their result over Plymouth Argyle the following week that stole the headlines with House scoring again in the second half after Olamide Shodipo scored in the first half of the game of a sensational 2-0 win.
Lincoln are now coming into this game behind Exeter City by just one point in the table, although they still remain 16 points adrift of the top six, despite positive results over two sides sitting in those spots. Lincoln also have a game in hand on a few teams around them and should they win that one and have other results go their way, the club could move into 10th and above Charlton Athletic.
As for Port Vale, their winless run has extended to six games since their 1-0 win over MK Dons at the start of March, as the club have gone on to draw 1-1 with Fleetwood Town, lose to Burton Albion, Cambridge United and Accrington Stanley before another draw at Fratton Park with Portsmouth.
Last time out, Vale drew 0-0 at Vale Park with Oxford United after Dennis Politic received a red card in the dying embers of the game. The club now sit in 17th and with a gap of just nine points on the bottom three and they will likely be involved in a scrap down at the bottom end of the table until the end of the campaign with most of those below them having a game in hand on Vale.
