Lincoln City vs. Reading Prediction, Tips & Stats

Two sides in need of a win meet in League One this weekend as Lincoln City face Reading.

Lincoln City currently sit 9th in League One with eight wins, seven draws and six losses from twenty-one games this season.

The Imps are having a strong campaign thus far as they look like genuine playoff contenders heading into the Christmas period.

They're a much-improved outfit from last season and they enter this game in decent form having won two and drawn two of their last four league games.

Their most recent league outing saw them claim a decent point in a 0-0 draw away at Wigan Athletic, a solid result considering Wigan are a dangerous side.

In complete contrast to last season, Lincoln have been struggling at home in recent games as they enter this one having won only one of their last five matches on home soil.

If they can sort out their home form and become as resilient on their own patch as they were last season they'll have a real shot at the playoffs. If they're going to do that then beating struggling sides is a must so three points here is a non-negotiable.

Reading currently sit 23rd in League One with five wins, three draws and twelve losses from twenty games so far this season.

It's been a nightmare campaign hitherto for a Royals side that will be staring a second successive relegation in the face if they don't drastically improve.

It's been an awful few months for them but, in fairness, they're entering this game in solid form having taken seven points from their last four league games.

Their latest game in the league saw them claim an impressive point in a 1-1 draw with promotion-chasing rivals Oxford United thanks to a Sam Smith goal in the first half.

They drastically need to build on recent results but their form away from home has not been particularly encouraging given they've lost four of their last five on the road.

They're facing a side in good shape on the whole but given how unconvincing Lincoln have been at home of late it feels like there's a good chance Reading can sneak a point from this one.

For our Lincoln vs. Reading prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

          Lincoln Team News

Forward Tyler Walker seems destined to miss the rest of the campaign with injury in what is a significant blow to the Imps.

He's joined by Ben House, Lewis Montsma and Reeco Hackett on the injury list but Jaden Brown has been making significant progress in his recovery of late and could be involved here.

          Reading Team News

Reading are unlikely to make too many changes to the XI that started the draw with Oxford in midweek.

If there are any alterations then defenders Amadou Mbengue and Tyler Bindon will be at the front of the queue to jump in.
