Bolton Wanderers are looking to reclaim their place in the automatic promotion spots as they take on Northampton Town this weekend.
Northampton Town currently sit 11th in League One with twelve wins, four draws and thirteen losses from twenty-nine games this season.
The Cobblers had a tough start to life in League One following last season's promotion, but they've fairly swiftly acclimatised to the standard and now look well on course to remain in this division for another season at least.
They're entering this game amidst a mixed run of form having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five games, the most recent of which was a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Portsmouth.
Pompey are the current league leaders so it's hardly a shameful loss, but Portsmouth were reduced to ten men with scoreline at 2-0 and still managed to score a further two goals so that should at least be of some concern to manager Jon Brady.
Their form at home has been solid, with Northampton having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five games on home soil.
Northampton are having a solid campaign and should go on to finish circa mid-table, but having now lost two games on the bounce they could do with nicking a point here to arrest their slide in form.
Bolton Wanderers currently sit 3rd in League One with eighteen wins, four draws and six losses from twenty-eight games this season.
The Trotters are having a strong campaign under Ian Evatt and look well-positioned to return to the Championship following what is now a five-year absence.
They're entering this game in decent shape having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five league games, with their most recent game a 1-1 draw at home to Barnsley.
The draw at home to the Tykes, which came as Zac Ashworth cancelled out Devante Cole's opener, was not a terrible result but was also a huge missed opportunity to climb back into the top two in the league.
They've generally been strong away from home in recent games with Evatt's men having now won three of their last four league games on the road, but having also lost two of their last five away from home they are vulnerable to a loss too.
These two sides met back in late October and Bolton ran out 2-1 winners, so given Northampton's recent wobble it feels likely the visitors should complete a league double in this one.
For our Northampton vs. Bolton prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
