Two sides harbouring promotion hopes meet in League One this weekend Peterborough United take on Barnsley.
Peterborough United currently sit 2nd in League One with thirteen wins, six draws and four losses from twenty-three games this season.
The Posh are having an excellent campaign and seem unaffected by the traumatic events that occurred in last season’s playoff semi-final.
They’re coming into this game in good form, unbeaten in their last seven in the league having won three of their last four.
Their most recent game was, though, a slip-up that saw them draw 2-2 with a struggling Reading side, with the Royals equalising in the 85th minute after goals from Josh Knight and Ephron Mason-Clark having given them the lead.
Their form at home has generally been excellent, as they enter this game having lost only once on home soil in the league all season.
They’ll be determined to get back to winning ways after dropping points last weekend as they attempt to chase down a Portsmouth side that have faltered a couple of times of late.
Barnsley are in a good place themselves three points won’t come easily, but Peterborough are as good as anyone in this division so they should back themselves.
Barnsley currently sit 7th in League One with twelve wins, five draws and five losses from twenty-two games this season.
The Tykes have had an up-and-down campaign in League One and are trying to cement themselves as a permanent part of the league’s top six sides.
After a barren run of form they’re coming into this game in excellent shape, unbeaten in their last six games in the league having won four of their last five.
Their latest outing saw them claim a 3-2 win away at Port Vale thanks to goals from Adam Phillips and John McAtee.
With that win following on from a 2-1 win over promotion contenders Stevenage, Barnsley are now coming into this game with the wind very much in their sails.
Their away form has been pretty commendable of late too, with the Yorkshire side having lost only once on the road all season in the league.
Despite the difficulty of this fixture, Barnsley will be incredibly confident in their own ability to get a result out of this games. This is a game between two sides in good form so expect a close and competitive affair, regardless of the result.
For our Peterborough vs. Barnsley prediction, we’re going for a 2-2 draw.
