Peterborough and Bristol Rovers are back in League One action this weekend with just under three weeks left of action in the third tier which sees the Posh looking to get back to winning ways and jump into the playoffs after a poor run of form.
Peterborough were hammered at home by Ipswich Town last weekend and with 44 games now played, they have to try and overturn a two-point gap on Derby County in sixth in the final two outings. The club have now also let in 54 goals from these matches, and this is the most goals conceded inside the top 10 after the 3-0 loss to Ipswich.
Peterborough have still secured 23 wins this season after wins over Shrewsbury own, Accrington Stanley and Exeter City in April that has seen the club score eight times. They did, however, lose to Cambridge United 2-0, who sit down in the relegation zone.
Things don't look good for Bristol in the final few games of the campaign and although they are mathematically clear from relegation, they are still adrift of the top 10 by seven points coming into this game. It is, however, their first season back in League One, and fans will probably be satisfied with a finish in the top half of the table, should they overturn the current five-point gap on Fleetwood Town in 12th.
As there is nothing to play for but pride for Bristol in their final few games of the season, we think the Posh should stroll to a home win and put pressure on those in the playoff spots as a result.
